        DIY Adirondack Chair

Need some new outdoor seating but don’t have a lot of cash to spend?  Make your own Adirondack chair from repurposed materials – specifically recycled shipping pallets.  It’s easy, and usually, you can find pallets for free, or close to free.

Designer Shelton Davis offers up the complete plans for his pallet Adirondack chair (PAC). The plans include: where to find pallets, how best to break them apart, the tools you’ll need, a cut list and full-graphic assembly instructions. You can order the plans in a PDF for $5 or $20 for a (recycled) cardboard ringed binder.

Davis’ website, Repurposed Goods, also has plans for making birdhouses and other ideas for projects made from repurposed materials. His idea for the pallet chair started as a way to address the lack of seating at bus stops in the Atlanta area. Now he’s hoping to expand to other cities through the PAC instruction guide. Check out this video of some guys from Brooklyn building a PAC and then “chair bombing” some people in need of seating.

Davis is trying to expand the PAC phenomenon beyond the U.S.  Plans for the chair have been sent to 3 of the 7 continents. To get PAC worldwide, Davis is having a contest to look for DIYers to build a PAC in Africa, Asia, Antarctica and South America.  The first person to contact Davis from one of these continents will receive a free cardboard version of the PAC plans.  If you know of anyone living on one of those continents, who has some DIY skills and a passion for repurposing, tell them about it.

        7. Thanks for this glorious article. Yet another thing to mention is that almost all digital cameras are available equipped with the zoom lens that allows more or less of the scene to become included by simply ‘zooming’ in and out. These types of changes in the aim length tend to be reflected within the viewfinder and on substantial display screen right at the back of the camera.

This is an excellent idea. Often we want a chair outside for relaxing. But those who havn't enough money to get it, they can just use this method for a great leisure outside's nature.
