Make Moss-Trimmed Burlap Christmas Stockings

I’d been eyeing the silver polka-dotted burlap at my local¬†Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store for a few weeks, and knew immediately when I heard about the Blogger Challenge that this was the project I’d been waiting for. I added white felt and a deep, rich green moss runner around the top of the stocking and was pretty darn happy with the result. (Note: sewing mossy ribbon is not a beginner friendly kind of craft project. Just saying.) You can see these handmade stockings in the post about my mantel design.

Step 1

Open GalleryI have been in love with the silver polka dotted burlap since I first saw it in my local Jo-Ann store a couple months ago. I’d been meaning to pick up a few yards, but didn’t have a project in mind until now. And I’m so glad I grabbed a couple yards the day I did, because the next time I went in, it was out of stock. (If you can’t find this fabric, you could easily paint polka dots in the color of your choice onto regular burlap.) Once I had my burlap in hand, I dug through our Christmas supplies to find a good stocking template. After cutting out my burlap pieces, I gave them a quick run through with the sewing machine.

Step 2

Step 3
