Toolsday Giveaway: Win a DIY Network Tool Kit

Last Toolsday, we posted a photo of a triangular thing with a roller-looking dohicky attached to it. To win our prize we asked you to tell us what it was used for.  We stumped most everyone even though we had a huge variety of answers — everything from a sock dryer to something you attach to the back of your lawnmower. Those answers and a lot more were wrong. The mystery tool was a ghat tracer (a what?). Surveyors use it to locate the number of points on a given gradient.

We randomly picked one winner out of all last week’s comments and that lucky person is Vance P. who was pretty much on the mark, he thought the mystery tool was used to measure the list on a shipboard. Congrats Vance, you have exactly one week to reply to our email before we pick another winner.

Next Tuesday we will be giving away a DIY Network tool kit. It is jammed packed with essential hand tools like pliers, a level, tape measure, utility knife, a variety of screwdrivers and of course, a hammer.

Is your home short on square footage? We have design ideas to make your kitchen look bigger, tips for organizing your home office and great storage solutions for combating clutter all around the home. Plus, tiny homes and unique homes like cargo containers and tree houses.

To win the DIY Network tool kit, post a comment (click “comment” above) and tell us what the contraption pictured on the right is used for.  You don’t have to answer correctly to win; we will randomly pick one winner.

On Tuesday, April 23, we will select the winner of the giveaway, and we’ll have a big surprise for all our readers.

You have until April 23, 2013, 2:00pm (ET) to enter to win the DIY Network tool kit.
