In order to be eligible to win last Toolsday’s (a.k.a. Tuesday) prize, we asked you to guess the identity of a little wood object with two spikes on the end. It was easier than we thought – most everyone knew that it was a boot jack. To use the jack, you need to anchor it to the ground, or hold it down with one foot. Then put the other foot in between the spikes, heel side in, and pull your foot out of the boot. Boot jacks were popular in the olden times, out West when boots were worn most of the time.

i think that this tool is called an aluminum stepped ring mandrel with an end mount for table-top use. It's used to measures rings sized 4-13, also to create wire wrapped rings directly on the mandrel . The mandrel can easily be removed for easy use.

It's used to put your wax mold of a ring to work on it if you want to size the wax mold or make any changes to it before you put it on the sprue to be casted to make a gold or silver ring or what ever metal you chose.
