Toolsday Giveway: Win a New Showerhead

We had a lot of correct answers to last week’s mystery gadget — most folks knew it was some kind of gear pulley used on a bicycle.  We randomly picked the winner from all the comments, and that lucky person is Mary, who also knew it was a bike pulley.  Congrats Mary, you have one week to respond to our email before we pick another winner.

Christmas is just around the corner.  Let the world know you’ve got a heavy dose of the holiday spirit by decking out your front yard. We’ve got expert advice from licensed electrician James Young, host of I Hate My Kitchen on how to safety hang outdoor lighting. Also, find instructions on how to make outdoor decorations like snowmen, sleighs and sparkling snowflakes.

Next Tuesday one lucky winner will receive a LevAqua showerhead. The LevAqua combines five digital-touch controlled settings for maximum water flow optimization.  The showerhead’s settings include a relaxing full-body surround, a pulsating massage, a combo of the previous two, and an eco-saving low-flow setting.

To enter the LevAqua showerhead giveaway, post a comment (click “comment” above) and tell us what these things pictured below are. You don’t have to answer correctly to win; we will randomly pick one winner from this post.

On Tuesday, November 27, we will select the winner then start up a new giveaway for another tool, which will be given away the Tuesday after that.

You have until November 27, 2012, 2:00pm (ET) to enter to win the LevAqua showerhead.

 Official Rules.

Well it's definitely not a tool from the garage! It's a bobbin and bobbin holder for a sewing machine.

The bobber and spool..not that old unless I'm an antique too.

    An old bobbon.

  21. Blogden says:

This has to be the guts of an old fashioned clothesline where you pull out the rope and it locks into place when the line is taut. Or, on the other hand, it could be a bobber and holder for a sewing machine.Ahem, rosesare red— violets are blue. You can sew up your pants— or hang them out to dry too.

it's parts for that thing that starts that thing

  24. Helen Picone says:

How little they have changed. My Singer sewing machine has a bobbin and bobbin holder that looks just like it, though it is from about 1980, but hardly old enough to be antique

  25. J Crouch says:

It looks like a spool and cover for an old string trimmer.
