Last Toolsday we posted a photo of a creepy looking mask and asked who it depicted. Most everyone knew it was Guy Fawkes. In case you don’t know, Fawkes and his posy planned to blow up London’s Parliament Building back in 1605. His plan was foiled; he was apprehended and later hanged, drawn and quartered. After that, Parliament declared every Nov. 5 (the day he was caught) a celebration. Today, it is also known as Bonfire night — fireworks are set off and effigies of Fawkes are burned all over the United Kingdom.
We randomly picked one winner out of all last week’s comments and that lucky person is Roy who thought the mask depicted Don Quixote. Congrats Roy, even though your answer is wrong, you still win. You’ve got exactly one week to reply to our email message before we pick another winner.
Do you love turning old junk into something new? Take at look at some of these easy projects you can make from garage-sale treasures and old stuff lying around your basement. Learn how to turn an old suitcase into an end table, or how to turn old cabinets into a bench, and make a new coffee table using an old door.
Next Tuesday, we will be giving away a PowerSharp Chain Saw Sharpening Kit. It can transform a dull blade into like-new sharp in just a few seconds. The kit is easy and fast to use, simply attach it to the blade, press the sharpener against a solid object for a few seconds, remove the sharpener and you’re ready to start cutting.
To win the PowerSharp Kit, post a comment (click “comment” above) and tell us what this thing pictured below is. You don’t have to answer correctly to win; we will randomly pick one winner.
On Tuesday, November 13, we will select the winner then start up a new giveaway for another tool, which will be given away the Tuesday after that.
You have until November 13, 2012, 2:00pm (ET) to enter to win the PowerSharp Chain Saw Sharpening Kit.
