I love to spend my Saturdays in vintage stores, and each time I run across holiday ephemera, I find it very hard to resist. So this year, I thought it would be fun to find a new way to display some of the vintage Christmas cards I’ve picked up. Here’s what I came up with…
Here’s what I used:
- Flat Board Wreath Form
- Clothespins
- Fine Grit Sandpaper
- White Spray Paint
- Glitter Spray Paint (if you’re feeling fancy)
- Glue Gun
- Ribbon or hook
And here’s how I made it:
1. Use the sandpaper to smooth over the edges of your wreath form, and then wipe the form off with a damp paper towel to remove any excess dust.
2. Next, spray paint the wreath form and the clothespins. Allow to dry.
Tips: I left the clothespins on the cardboard they came on so they were easier to flip over. I also added a topcoat of “Diamond Dust” glitter spray. Everything needs a little more *sparkle,* don’t you agree?
3. Use your glue gun to attach the clothespins to the wreath form. Make sure the side that opens and closes is facing out.
Tips: I put the glue on the clothespin itself so that it doesn’t show through on the finished wreath. Also, I only put glue on a couple clothespins at a time because the glue dries so quickly.
4. You can hang the wreath by a ribbon (like I did) or attach a hook on the back to hang the wreath on the wall. Then, start filling it with cards!
