In order to be eligible to win last Toolsday’s (a.k.a. Tuesday) prize, you had to guess the identity of a hand-cranked machine with a couple of cog wheels. We had a variety of amusing answers; everything from sauerkraut maker, to a movie reel rewinder, to a lettuce cutter. The correct answer was an old-time pencil sharpener. (The poor kids who got their fingers caught in that contraption – yikes!)
We randomly picked one winner from all the comments and that lucky person is Bill, who thought it was a grinder. Congratulations, Bill you have one week to respond to our email before we pick another winner.
October 31 is not that far off. It’s time to start decorating and planning your Halloween bash. We’ve got cute decorating projects that cost no more than $5 and they’re super easy to make with the kids. If you’re throwing a party for the kids, find ideas for yummy treats. Next Tuesday, we will be giving away a Bosch Laser Distance Measurer. This pocket-sized is super handy for renovating and decorating, plus it sounds like a a lot of fun to use. You can measure length, area volume, indirect length where the distance is blocked by an obscale, calculate the total of multiple areas, and the minimum and maximum distances from a certain point.

Old Filipinos use this as a broom! It's awesome for leaves on the lawn. Its made by drying coconut palm fronds and stripping the leafy part. Gather the sturdy stem parts and secure tightly at one end to create a 'broom'.
