Last week we asked you to identify a tool in order to be eligible to win this week’s giveaway.
A lot of people got it right; the mystery tool is a tracing profile gauge used for duplicating molding, baseboard, etc. Here you can see it conformed to a piece of molding.
We randomly picked one winner out of all the comments and that lucky person is Dan D.
Dan guessed correctly, but that doesn’t matter, he still would have won even if he guessed incorrectly (this sweepstakes is so easy). Dan, you’re the proud winner of a DIY Network backsplash tile kit.
Installing crown molding, chair rail and baseboard are fairly easy projects to undertake. They look great and increase the value of your home. Need more value-adding updates? We’ve got plenty of smart-money ideas.
Next Tuesday, we will be giving away a set of pliers from Channellock. The set includes five types of pliers: tongue-and-groove, linemen’s, jaw, long-nose and cutting. All conveniently rolled up in a durable tool pouch to keep them organized and portable.
To win the pliers, post a comment (click “comments” above, just to the right of the date”) and tell us what this old gadget is and what it is used for? You don’t have to answer correctly to win; we will randomly pick one winner.
On Tuesday, May 31, we will select the winner then start up a new giveaway for another tool, which will be given away the Tuesday after that.
You have until May 31, 2011, 2:00pm (ET) to enter to win the Channellock pliers.
Official Rules.
