We’re Giving Away a MasterCraft NXT 20 Wakeboard Boat!

boat dock

Happy Friday!

I noticed in the comments on yesterday’s post that some of you have hinted to a boat and cash prize included in the Blog Cabin 2014 Sweepstakes. It’s true, we’ve sweetened the pot by adding even more to the winnings!

This year’s grand prize winner will receive a 2015 MasterCraft NXT 20 wakeboard boat and a $50,000 cash prize from national mortgage lender Quicken Loans. After the Cabin Comforts Giveaway is over, we’ll be hosting a Boat Vote on the blog. During the Boat Vote, you’ll get to have a say in how the 2015 MasterCraft NXT 20 wakeboard boat will be designed, by picking color combos.

Get excited, because this is first time EVER we’ve given away a boat!

travelfun on April 11, 2014 at 4:07 pm
  6. I wonder if water skis will be included with the boat???

travelfun on April 11, 2014 at 4:10 pm
    • Good question!

      Virginia, are there skis included?

      Eugenia27 on April 11, 2014 at 4:41 pm
    • Nah…use some the $50000 to buy some! (and to pay the property taxes on the new house & boat!)

Bev on April 12, 2014 at 12:04 pm
    • Once you use that money to pay the taxes and closing costs and such, there won't be any money for skis or gas for the boat. LOL ;)

      Eugenia27 on April 12, 2014 at 4:35 pm
    • What closing costs? I thought the house was given free & clear.

Briony on April 12, 2014 at 4:53 pm
    • The winner has to pay all that stuff you have to pay when you buy a house. Maybe not closing cost, per-say, but there is the title insurance and ….. maybe it is closing costs (you know, all those legal fees to register the exchange of title). And the taxes.

      Eugenia27 on April 12, 2014 at 5:40 pm
    • Insurance isn't compulsory so long as you don't take a loan to pay the taxes or a second mortgage. If you pay cash it's your decision whether to insure or not. There's no FEMA flood insurance requirement here. Other fees are minimal, just a few hundred $$$'s Property taxes in Polk are high though. There's no realtor fee or legal fees with these houses either unless you employ one to sell the house after you win.

It's income tax that's the big one and that's the same whether it's a house sweepstakes, a 'free' car from Oprah or Ellen or a lottery ticket win.

  7. This is so awesome. Not just the boat and money, but just to see how many people love this whole process. All the different messages that get post because people are guessing on what will be next. Some seeing things and sharing it with others who haven't seen it. It is just so refreshing to go to a site on the computer and it not be negative. That is what I have to say I have probably enjoyed the most. DIY and even HGTV have turned reality TV into something that is positive and fun to watch. It isn't about bashing, cheating, cursing, lying and all the negative things that you see on shows these days. I think that they are inspiring the younger generation to learn the trades again instead of sitting inside behind a computer. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with those type of jobs, I had one myself, I am just saying it is nice to have channels that so many people love to watch with host that have a positive but real personality and the entire family can watch it together without having to worry what the kids might see on it. So thank you DIY and HGTV for bringing back quality television shows for the whole family to watch and learn from. I hope you all have a very blessed weekend. God Bless!
