  2. This is great. I've never seen a cabin cam before but I love it. They sure have there work cut out for them but I know they can do it. There's a great tea out there. From start to finish this will be a wonderful experience for me getting to watch everything all the way from sunny Hawaii! As we say, ALOHA…. Get your brains in gear and hustle, hussle, hussle… :-)

  3. Did we lose the widows walk?

Connie on January 28, 2014 at 8:42 am
    • It was rotten and they discarded it for the trip. It will be rebuilt bigger, stronger and better.:) Same goes for the enclosed sunrooms. It's almost exactly as I guessed for the move. Dylan did prepare us for this with his initial survey when he said these additions were in in poor shape and probably couldn't be saved. It made the load small enough for the narrow roads and bridge it had to cross. :D

  4. Yipppeeee! Thank you all! Now our little curious minds can wonder al day long! What fun! Have a fun day all. (It is -10 below zero today with -25 below wind chill! Brr-r-r-r-r-r) We have a 2-hour delay for school which I'm thankful for!^_^

amberPA on January 28, 2014 at 9:20 am
    • We're at -21 with wind chill approaching -50 as I blog. Stay warm. School cancelled yesterday & today Kids haven't had a full week at school yet this year. :( So good to see that there is another ground color other than white. ;)

    • Where in the world do you live, Clive, if you don't mind me asking? I got cold just reading your last blog. OMG

Sheri McNamara on January 28, 2014 at 2:05 pm
    • Wisconsin. MN may well be colder and MI is about the same. Many parts of the NE are getting slammed by the cold too. I believe it's all the way down to the Florida panhandle. My in-laws in NC are shivering with single digits to teens temps. :) This has been a winter for the record books.

Clive on January 28, 2014 at 2:13 pm
    • Clive, the great thing about our cold snaps in NC (teen temperatures) is that they are brief, yes we have some cold days during winter, but then our temps go back up and usually stay in the 35-50 degree range.
I think the same is true for much of the south…yes it can get cold, but those days are usually brief with a quick recovery……but you guys up north aren't getting any breaks, old man winter is really hammering you guys. Stay safe & warm!

    • I am in the northern part of Texas and Houston, Austin, and SanAntonio got slammed with sleet snow and frigid temps. We have been right at 20 degrees sometimes in the teens which for Texas is cold. That North wind is brutal. However grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, so I know for sure they are being slammed. I liked Muenster's FB page and there were mornings that he was going out on a crash when it was -13++ degrees below zero.

    • I hope my plants survive here in the Piedmont- we have had such a weird winter with temps around 70 at Christmas and then a a couple of cold snaps with lows in the 20s. I not sure if some of my hard hibiscus and roses are hardy enough. Snow tonight!

      Lia_M on January 28, 2014 at 7:44 pm
    • Oh my goodness, From what I have seen and heard that whole area has been getting slammed for a while! I am sorry to hear that. I will think warm thoughts for you all and remember you all in my prayers. May the weather be more tolerable for you all very soon. Many blessings to everyone, keep warm and safe.<3<3 XXXOOOxD

Sheri McNamara on January 28, 2014 at 10:22 pm
    • Thanks Sheri and may all hurricanes go back out to sea in your part of the country. ;)

Clive on January 28, 2014 at 10:38 pm
    • I know you all have been getting terrible temps Clive!! Please be careful and stay warm! We also have had many cancellations and delays from school this year. We are delayed again today. It was -10 below this a.m., with wind chill -25 below. I'm thinking of you Clive! (Dream of Florida!!!) It helps me. He-hee!^_^

amberPA on January 29, 2014 at 9:14 am
    • It's 53 degrees in Winter Haven right now Clive, according to the cabin cam! Imagine that Clive! B)

amberPA on January 29, 2014 at 9:18 am
    • I'm trying. My kids would be in swimsuits. I'll bet the lake is about 65-70F right now. Great for swimming and boating. We'll not see 50's until May I expect. :) Lake Hamilton images will have to keep us warm for a while longer. xD Thanks DIY for bringing summer to the Midwest in January.

Clive on January 29, 2014 at 10:39 am
  5. Good Morning Winter Haven! Sigh….thank you DIY for my morning sunrise! :-)

LRN on January 28, 2014 at 9:14 am
  6. Oh Happy Day! Thank you, thank you, thank you – love the cabin-cam.

Windsmurf on January 28, 2014 at 9:52 am
  7. Yes….Thanks DIY, Dylan, and Kayla. Now I just have to regain the patience to enjoy the views selected by others as we happily share control of the camera.

  8. HOORAY for Dylan in having a successful house move and bringing back LIVE cabin cam right from the start of the renovation project!!
Caught on camera day one — a beautiful sunrise at Lake Hamilton, our now forlorn BC waiting on some major TLC from DIY, and a lady walking her 3 dogs and taking pictures….
Speaking of dogs, is that a red dog house under the pines trees along the BC fence line?
    It's a great time to be a blogger…happy cam watching everyone<3

    • or an electrical box I was thinking.

cucumberHOH on January 29, 2014 at 11:09 am
  9. Awake at the crack of dawn this morning (8:45 AM….remember, retirees define time differently), sitting at my computer desk, enjoying the first cup of coffee of the morning, relishing the sunshine and blue sky outside my window (haven't seen either in quite a while up here in Michigan), and exploring the BC site via the 2014 Cabin-Cam. The live Florida images almost make me forget that it is -9 degrees (-28 windchill) outside my window right now! Life is good…. Almost forgot…the street got plowed last night….yet another reason to be thankful!

RLDorf on January 28, 2014 at 10:58 am
  10. Thank you so much for the cabin cam revival!!! It is awesome to"be" on site again. This adds so much to the experience! Got to go have a look at Florida to show me the earth is still warm somewhere. Minus 18F here last night. It is up to a balmy 7 above right now.

grammagail on January 28, 2014 at 11:11 am
    • It doesn't look warm there. All clouds.

cucumberHOH on January 29, 2014 at 11:09 am
    • We have ice and snow covering the ground since before Christmas and below zero temps at night. The 50's looks absolutely heavenly to me! Once that leon front gets through it will be back in the 70's and even 80's are possible. not bad for January/February.

grammagail on January 29, 2014 at 1:41 pm
    • LOL. The 52F presently at the BC site is 52 degrees warmer than we are right now. Everything's relative. :)

I'll bet the lake is still 65F or more so the workers could take a dip (if the gators let them o.0)
