    • the cam didn't work when I tried it either. i gave up quickly.

    • Mine just flashes also…..any ideas?

LadidiamondD on January 27, 2014 at 5:12 pm
    • I'm using Internet Explorer…

LadidiamondD on January 27, 2014 at 5:15 pm
    • If you're using IE, our cabin cam was having a minor security glitch. Things should be behaving better now.

      Kayla@HGTV on January 27, 2014 at 5:55 pm
    • its not any better with Google.

AlainaMacGaren on January 28, 2014 at 6:05 pm
    • Be patient. A lot of people are all trying to see what they want to see and sometimes it takes time to move or focus on what you wish to look at.

My experience this year is that it works fine using the latest versions of IE and Windows OS 7 or 8. However it's not working well with older versions of IE and OS such as Windows XP.

Haven't tried with 'Apple' systems yet. :)

  2. Well, it looks as if we have lost our Social Bonus Room and Beautiful Built In Windows Seats !

gremol on January 27, 2014 at 4:28 pm
    • but only until they rebuild the "Widow's Walk".

I was pleased to see that my 2nd favorite part of the original BC made the move. Based on the preliminary designs used to select Exterior Color it looked like the old Front Porch was not being kept. Nice to see that it is still around. Hopefully it will be put to use in the new BC.

PLEASE KEEP THE FRONT PORCH. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

    • Gremol – The second floor is coming back soon. We just needed to remove the upper floor to make the across-county move a bit easier. :)

      Kayla@HGTV on January 27, 2014 at 5:03 pm
    • I'm sorry you misunderstood me, I meant in the voting !! By just a very small percentage, we do not get those wonderful window seats, nor the social bonus room !!

gremol on January 27, 2014 at 9:07 pm
    • I feel the same way. Comfortable chairs are easier to get than custom made window seats. Would have loved to entertain family and friends in the social bonus room. The coffee pot can stay in the kitchen.

RitaANewYorker on January 27, 2014 at 10:10 pm
    • Amen !! The window seats can be 'multi-purposed', from sitting, flowers, eating, projects, napping, sunning/tanning, etc. etc………. !!!!! What a bummer !!! But, since the sanctuary beat out the social room, I suppose the comfy chairs fit !

gremol on January 27, 2014 at 10:27 pm
    • Ronale,

Several people have stated that their personal preference for a Sanctuary is due to the fact that they do not want noise from the Social Bonus room coming in to the Master Suite. Personally, I don't think noise from the Social Bonus room will interrupt the privacy of those in the Master Suite for three reasons:

      1) In addition to the Master Suite Bedroom and Social Bonus room the 2nd floor will include a Spa Bathroom, Closet, and Stairway. As the population ages and more home owners have public space (Living/Media/Social Rooms) and bedrooms on the same level the two spaces are usually separated by a Bathroom, Closet, and/or Stairway for the sole purpose of reducing noise in the bedrooms. Therefore, there will likely be a buffer between the Social Bonus Room and Master Suite Bedroom.

      2) In most homes, all residents rise each day and retire each night at approximately the same time which reduces the likelihood of noise keeping people awake.

      3) In most cases, teens or quests who do stay up a little late will respect their elders and keep the noise down.

      Just my 2 cents.

    • This is like losing the fresnel light last year.:'(

      540sam on January 28, 2014 at 5:35 am
    • So true Sam!:'(

SID on January 28, 2014 at 3:35 pm
    • Forgot about that light, it was beautiful!

      Lia_M on January 28, 2014 at 7:36 pm
    • 540sam, I'm not so sure the Fresnel light lost out after all. They never showed 'that' light in the finished pics or on the T.V. show (that I'm aware of). The outside pics – it looked like a Fresnel light up there. In the finished product I never saw a mention of that lighting fixture??

    • oops, I think we have til Feb. 3rd to turn the voting around for the window seat o.0:(

      Jennie/Florida on January 28, 2014 at 9:51 am
    • Jennie, blogger comments seemed to have helped persuade a change from the dark blue siding to the pale green, and in this round of voting seems to have helped persuade voters to go with the private sanctuary. Both of those choices were originally running literally neck to neck. I don't know if its still possible to sway voters toward the window seats, but I for one will keep trying!B) Here in AR summers are also hot and humid, so I'm hoping if the comfy chairs do win the designers use a heat and sun resistant upholstery such as Sunbrella and not the beautiful( but oh so sticky & hot) leather!=/:(

SID on January 28, 2014 at 3:34 pm
    • So, that's why the green won ??!!! Blue would have been much prettier in a Florida setting !! Everyone PLEASE, vote for the Social Bonus Room & Built-In Window Seats !!

gremol on January 28, 2014 at 9:29 pm
    • Me too…I love the window seat idea in the sanctuary…anyone can buy big chairs!! I'll keep voting…lets make it happen!!

PEK on January 30, 2014 at 5:57 pm
    • SID, I agree…please, no leather furniture!!!

ladyadnyl on February 2, 2014 at 1:02 pm
    • hi Jennie,
they made some changes for us in the pass, maybe we can get them to do the same again and put in some or a window seat if the chairs wins. I think the window seats would work in either room that may win.
we can all ask them too, and who knows they just might do it. Remember we got the old door knocker put back on the House in Maine after the another one won, and that one wasn't even on the voting list.

      home_girl on January 28, 2014 at 9:07 pm
    • Well, the winner could always add window seats if that option loses the vote.

cucumberHOH on January 29, 2014 at 11:02 am
    • There's another week of voting yet so things may change.

Just curious why you want two social areas (social bonus room and Media Room – aka Megaden) plus a living space and no peaceful quiet retreat in the cabin? :)

Sally on January 27, 2014 at 10:51 pm
    • It would be an 'all-in-one' room. This is suppose to be a vacation home, you will need plenty of room for guests and activities !! I've always had my bedroom as my sanctuary !! I guess it's just own personal preference !!

gremol on January 28, 2014 at 3:14 am
    • The Media room/ megaden is a completely different room from the social bonus area in the Master Bedroom. Fir that reason believe many are voting to keep the bedroom peaceful.:)

Sally on January 28, 2014 at 9:44 am
    • Oh! I though you were talking about the move.

I'll keep voting Social Bonus Room w/Window Seats. Hopefully more people vote for these choices.

MAOW on January 27, 2014 at 10:58 pm
    • i wanted both, a window seat and the comfy chairs. that wasn't a voting option, though

AlainaMacGaren on January 28, 2014 at 6:07 pm
    • Maybe they can turn the Voting into Multiple Choice?

      A) Window Seats
      B) Comfy Chairs
      C) All of the above
      D) None of the above

MAOW on January 28, 2014 at 6:09 pm
    • If you get the window seats built in first you could always get a couple of comfy chairs to add to the room.

Jay Michajluk on January 28, 2014 at 8:03 pm
    • I think there will be "comfy" chairs in other rooms too.

cucumberHOH on January 29, 2014 at 11:07 am
    • I know. It makes me feel sad too. I'll keep voting though until the end.

Petraathen on January 28, 2014 at 12:54 am
    • The other side of the coin is we will probably have a beautiful Private Sanctuary to enjoy. There really aren't any "bad" outcomes here. The BC people make every choice work. If the window seats don't win the vote, but you win the house, you will have the imaginative resources of DIY to design your own window seats…and then build them in the true spirit of doing it yourself!

RLDorf on January 28, 2014 at 11:07 am
    • I'm still voting for both of those choices, and the traditional bath too!

      Lia_M on January 28, 2014 at 7:35 pm
    • Don't give up! Keep voting. You never know. I too, love the window seats. You can always go buy chairs, but you can't buy built in window seats!

Lisa on January 30, 2014 at 12:25 pm
  3. Looking good…now quit standing around congratulating yourselves and get to work!

Ralebird on January 27, 2014 at 4:30 pm
  4. Tiny little thing. I hope they can add to it!!! B)

Frank Sandlin on January 27, 2014 at 4:36 pm
    • Smaller than a double-wide. But it will get a much larger upstairs and an extension big enough for two bedrooms or one and a media room at the far end.

Ralebird on January 27, 2014 at 4:54 pm
    • Would be nicer if they build an up stairs Master Bedroom and Master Bath!!!

Frank Sandlin on January 27, 2014 at 5:17 pm
    • That's already been decided and you can vote on the details!

Ralebird on January 27, 2014 at 9:53 pm
    • It's going to be a lot deeper and wider when they rebuild the conditioned space where the enclosed sunroom was. :)

DannyF on January 27, 2014 at 10:54 pm
  5. Not so tiny, a little rough. A work of art in progress. It will be beautiful. Many will want it, but only one will have their dreams come true. Good luck everyone!

DonAtwell on January 27, 2014 at 4:55 pm
  6. Turn on the sync generator for the blogcam, please.
