  2. Winter Haven! hooray!!!!!!!!!!! A beautiful area. Polk County has so much to offer. My son, retired Navy, and his wife built a house there. Orange blossoms smell yummy and to go out in your yard and pick some fruit is heavenly. It is only 36 miles to Universal Studios at Disney World! I can hardly wait to see what DIY does with this house…just know it will be spectacular like all the past houses.

  4. Would be a dream come true! I've never owned a home and have 6 grandchildren who would just love this! I would love to have my grandchildren come stay the summers with me! Always dreamed of living on the water and the beauty and serenity and peacefulness of just sitting on my porch and be able to enjoy it! :)

    • Hi Edwina Walker, I understand what you are saying. I have never owned a home, so I am still renting, but I do appreciate having a roof over my head, so to speak. I am retired(disability) and I absolutely am going to be in the voting options. I will be entering as often as is allowed when that begins as well and plan on winning this charming 2014 Blog Cabin. I encourage you, and anyone else interested in winning, to watch for the instructions . Good luck to you Edwina, but remember I want to win this fantastic Blog Cabin too!!!<3<3:D;) XXXOOO

  9. Winter Haven is exactly that a haven from the winter. For years people have been excaping the blizzards of the Northeast and finding a haven in Florida. I am from upstate New York and twice a year a kid my family would travel to florida and we finally moved to Lakeland, Fl. Now I live in South Carolina and its too cold here. Want to move back to Fl. sooo bad. Good luck to everyone and who every wins this years Blog Cabin. Love the house.

  10. GRUNDY PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Keep the Original Character wood work built ins etc as much as possible. She is a Grand Old Lady she should keep her original beauty and style. Up dating kitchens and baths can be done without denying her her dignity.
Having said that the location is absolutely spectacular paying homage to the days of Grand living in such a home a more perfect setting could not have been found
