    • I posted earlier how my phone call with Diy Network would play out. So I am making sure my prediction does not come true. Lol. Just trying to keep things light here.

  4. Gee …it would be my first home.. Ready to retire and live in NC.

Kathy Siems Solomon on September 25, 2013 at 3:33 pm
    • Me too. It would be my first home meaning the first home with my name as owner. I retired recently(disability), my husband just retired (old enough) haha. Kids are grown and have kids of their own. Wouldn't that be a wonderful place for our friends and family to come and visit us! I can't think of a better place to life. It's warm and comfy. It's not overdone, it's perfect in my heart and in my eyes. And yes I really want to win that home. What an honor it would be. But if it's not meant to be then good luck and best wishes to the winner.<3

  6. Hoping that two things that just happened here were just "warm up states of emotion" before I experience a really astonishing state of being. (Wishful thinking on my part.) Right after I read that a winner was drawn and after I posted a comment, my doorbell rang—it was UPS—with a package delivery—no it wasn't certified mail containing a set of house keys. Just a few minutes later, the doorbell rang again—this time it was an elderly neighbor who walked up the street to thank me for some apple pie that I had taken over to her house yesterday. No, it wasn't FedEx or UPS with a special envelope, but it sure got my two dogs barking excitedly. After all of this excitement I decided to check my phone to make sure I didn't miss any incoming phone calls. Against my better judgement, I decided to first try updating my iphone because there was a message saying that an update was available. To make a long story short, I couldn't access my phone for a while because I couldn't remember my apple id password. I finally got the issue resolved. No, I didn't miss any incoming phone calls. Here I thought I was being so relaxed, cool, and calm during this waiting period—-admittedly still hoping that there might be a remote chance of winning the Blog Cabin of our dreams, but my actions proved otherwise:):)

    • ;) Always hope. Good Luck

StormyWV on September 25, 2013 at 3:45 pm
    • Thanks, you too! —on both accounts:)

      joyfulj9 on September 25, 2013 at 4:21 pm
    • Boy oh boy can I relate to you! My startle response to the phone and knocks on the door are right up there!!! On top of that I will not be home for a few days and I am afraid if I win (even with the chances 16,000,000 + to 1) I won't get the knock, the certified letter, or call!!! Boy oh boy! Time to get a hold on things. <3^_^ Becky

      joyfulj9 on September 25, 2013 at 4:20 pm
    • Well, it takes about 25 mins for the update to finish updating, but I don't think it shows missed calls during that period. Are you sure you didn't miss any calls? Sorry, just adding to the anxiety doesn't help, I know. The sure fact for me is wining the blog cabin NC, will probably be the only solution to a lot of mine, including getting over Kiwah island dream home.

havanera on September 25, 2013 at 4:12 pm
    • That Kiwah Island Dream home sure was a beauty, wasn't it:) I'll be optimistic—if they happened to call during my phone updating time, I will trust that they will not give up so easily—we don't, so I''m hopeful they don't:):):) I'll keep dreaming in the meantime.

  7. I wonder how long it takes for them to notify the winner.

    beach4me1 on September 25, 2013 at 3:55 pm
  8. Did anyone else notice that under the picture of the keys it says, Posted at 4:54pm on September 9, 2013 ??????? What?????????

    joyfulj9 on September 25, 2013 at 4:02 pm
    • Maybe the picture was taken then. Who knows….lol

havanera on September 25, 2013 at 4:07 pm
    • I'm not very computer savvy so I haven't a clue:)

      joyfulj9 on September 25, 2013 at 4:22 pm
    • They probably wrote up the post early, got it approved, and just waited for the actual event to happen before posting it publicly. But those dang computers leaked the old creation date..

      dreamn_again on September 25, 2013 at 4:10 pm
    • Sounds like a reasonable reason to me:):)

Debbie on September 25, 2013 at 6:15 pm
    • Maybe while we are wondering about THIS, they will surprise us with THAT—the real keys to the Blog Cabin. Just a dreamy thought for one of us bloggers. I hope they let us know soon after they get the confirmation signature from the one lucky winner.

      joyfulj9 on September 25, 2013 at 7:23 pm
    • must be a weird glitch!! I just looked through on older posts and all of them say sept 9…

  9. WOW! EARLY drawing! So exciting! Some may think the skeleton keys in the photo are just relics. To me they are a part everyday life. Our home, here on the farm, was built in 1895 and is still fitted with the old door locks. I love to hold the old keys in my hand, feel their shape and weight and think about the many generations who have walked through our doors. The winner of the BC is truly lucky and blessed!

Downonthefarm on September 25, 2013 at 4:59 pm
  10. I wish it goes to a deserving couple….but i secretly wish it was us!!! Good luck to all and thanks for the opportunity to have the chance at this fab house!!!
