  4. It would be neat if bloggers were given clues about the winner….date of entry…..male/female….which part of the country…which state….first initial of last name so the waiting to find out who the winner is would be a little more exciting

Teri on September 24, 2013 at 9:51 pm
    • I hear ya….that's the best part, trying to solve the clues and guess location. Date of entry would be fun without giving away any specifics.

  5. It will more than likely be some person who never blogged, just entered a contest for the first time. That's is how the person in South Carolina won the 400 million dollar Powerball jackpot last week. His wife wanted him to stop for some buns at that store, The store was out of the buns she wanted, so he bought his first Powerball tickets, when he saw the size of the jackpot. I guess that is really called "beginners luck".

    • LOL ! It sure does seem that way !

      kdiver64 on September 24, 2013 at 10:34 pm
    • yes it does seem that way, I miss my beginners luck, the older u get means been there done that :S

COOLSMILEY on September 27, 2013 at 5:44 pm
    • i could use any luck at all. beginners, midlife, late LOL something would be nice. even if its not a blogger who wins (although that would be wonderful), i just hope it's someone who appreciates the beauty and design. i've seen a few posts on facebook of negative comments and i wonder how anyone could have anything negative to say about this cabin. Everything about it is amazing. Good luck to everyone :-)

Frank on October 7, 2013 at 10:58 am
    • Yes, supposedly it was only the second time he had ever entered Powerball and was going to the store just to buy some bread. It is amazing how that worked out! Well God bless him and I hope he is someone who really needed some financial help :)

Frank on October 7, 2013 at 10:56 am
    • Frank, one would also hope for him to pay it forward and help others as well. That will be awesome!

  8. GEESH!!! Mary, what an amazing word! Well, I love those keys ~~they have great patina. My Hubby, Gary and I are at that age where we have patina too, so I think we'd fit in well Downeast Atlantic, NC! Perfect timing too, you guys at DIY chose today to pull the WINNER~~it's Gary's Birthday!!! <3 Yes, and Congrats, DIY and your entire TEAM! You knocked this one out of the ball-park–this Blog Cabin is truly phenomenal! I'd be remiss, however, if I didn't put a plug in for my wonderful Bloggie Buddies! Thanks to DIY and SCRIPPS, we have this wonderful BLOG and I love my Bloggie Buddies and just pray that one of them comes out hearing that phone ring…. Blessings from Above for all!!! :D xD^_^<3 Kitty

    • I guess patina is another way of growing old gracefully. I think when I get there, age spots and gray hair will be the tarnish. LOL ! There's always just for men. My wife keeps telling me to grow old gracefully. I tell her I will after we have our first grandchild. I'm sure that's not to far away !

      kdiver64 on September 24, 2013 at 11:19 pm
    • I'm actually enjoying my age– being a grandmother is awesome–has been for nearly 24 years! What blew my away was becoming a great grandmother of a now, 2 year old doll-baby. She was over here tonight to celebrate her Papa Gary's Birthday supper and eat cake. My hubby was playing with her as though he was out of it for getting old, so there goes little tot, reassuring him, in baby language that "…evwe twings gonna bee awite Papa Gwee!" And Ruthie speaks with such assurance, she must be believed! Best to you, KDiver64! Every day with our loved ones and friends, plus helping others is truly a gift!^_^xDB)<3 Kitty

LLColeman on September 26, 2013 at 3:14 am
    • Thank you so much, LL! YOU Already KNOW how I want you to become Blessed! I'll pass on your Birthday wishes to Gary, you thoughtful Girl! We are so happy just to BE here, together this year, as you well know… I am waiting for you to be restored too! :) <3 Here we are, It has become cooler in our Hampton Roads, VA, area, staying in the 70s daytime or even a bit lower temps. The weather is Heavenly to me! I'm really alive! I think about what the Bible tells us, that, and I loosely paraphrase , "…that we are blessed when we've lost so very much that's most dear to us, so that we can better receive and be totally embraced by the One and only God, who wants to fill us with Himself and His Blessings, that make our lives brand new and worth living." Yes, that's one of life's many mysteries, like why He healed me, but he did, and I have the scientific proof, as you and all the Bloggies who read about it on this Blog or on my Facebook read about it know! I'll ask Him someday. I sure did NOTHING to deserve it! I'm impish and get myself in trouble all the time…:D But He still shows that He cares. WOW! Despite myself! :| <3<3 Kitty

    • God is not blind he gives to those who deserves, such as you Kitty.

You win, and Gary and I are coming down to fish off the dock with you and play oldies but goodies in the background, startin' with "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" !!!:pxDB)<3

    • I am new to blogging this year(finally got a laptop and getting into 21st century) but reading all of you long-time bloggers and obvious friends, if, and I know that's a huge if, but if I win everyone has an open invitation to come and visit, sit on the dock, under the pergola even sit around the outdoor kitchen. I love to cook, so I'll come up with a menu. If anyone is long distance we"ll make arrangements for that too. I believe that is what this wonderful Blog Cabin is all about.Good luck to all and ,yes I still love and want that wonderful home.<3<3

    • Sheri,
I'm a new blogger also this year. The same here to. See ya! Good Luck!

conardj on September 29, 2013 at 4:44 pm
    • Sheri and Conardj, I am so glad you have joined our wonderfully krazy bunch of Bloggies! I lurked, scared to write anything an entire year, afraid of public internet use, email, Facebook–all that modern stuff. Now I embrace it–especially the DIY Blog! I have met and befriended some of the most special people here, since I have been actively a DIY Bloggie now for 3 years and voted on the Blog Cabins. Hope you will stay with us–we are active even during Winter, before DIY begins work on the new place. They will announce where it is soon, and WE will begin our "detective" work and planning input. Our old blogs are still posted and some of the stories we've written during slow season are hilarious . Good luck to you, each! B);):p<3 Kitty

    • kitty, thank you for the invite to keep on bloggin. I am havin a blast, except when I stress myself out and the patina in my hair increases. HaHa. I was reading some old blogging and it was great. It help me to see how this stuff works, at least in general. So if I make it through the BC and maybe even win it, I will keep bloggin cause I love it and I know I could NEVER meet a bunch of bloggers as wonderful as all of you. God bless.<3<3<3:D

    • Belated Happy Birthday to Gary! Good luck to all the bloggers. Love the blog and the people on it. <3:D Judy

JudyInMich on September 26, 2013 at 9:03 am
    • Judy, you are such a dear one! Thank you! I shall pass your good wishes on to Gary! He teases me for being "the older woman" in his life, because i was born 6 months before him! LOL! Now, he belabors being old–and I'll ask him, 'like me?' Then he says, "You're not old!" So I can then tell him for 6 months, 'that settles it! We're NOT old!' Then, I have my Ides of March b'day–and the syndrome starts anew! LOL! Here's wishing you good luck with the sweepstakes, both Blog Cabin and Urban Oasis–are you entering that one? It's in Boston this year. I love the location and the view! What I do not care for is contemporary decor–I'm very traditional. I don't mind a mix, like Vern used in the Chicago, Trump Tower one a couple years ago, where he used modern and antiques in a very lovely way. to me, however, my taste just doesn't go contempo–I'm sure there are plenty of likers out there! To each their own taste!B)xD^_^<3<3 Kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on September 26, 2013 at 2:40 pm
    • LOL! Ron is the same way. But I can tell him he is not so old always because I am 3 years his senior. :D I haven't entered the urban oasis. I didn't really appeal to me. Not my style at all. I know plenty of people who have entered though. I think i will be entering the Dream Home and the next Smart Home though. Good luck to you on your entries as well. God Bless. :) :D<3 Judy
