  1. First thing i would do is Call my sister. I keep telling her to think positive through a very hard and trying time in her life. I tell her I am gonna win her ," Her life time dream"!!! ( it has always been to move to NC) Dream no more! Then I would call my son to tell him i won and that he now has a place to stay when he moves next year to pursue his masters degree. My sister is like a second mother to my son and this would truly be a dream for both!!! My sister soooo needs to have someone to take care of her right now, what better place to be then her dream location with less worries.

    • Best to your sis. Make plans to take her to the NC coast regardless of what occurs! It is healing, trust me! At least to the spirit. I only have "sisters of choice" but I love them as if we were blood. Good luck to you!

  3. Mmmmmm, let's see………… I guess I would find the closest chair or sofa, sit back, and enjoy the entire scene. Like all new buildings I visit, I would just look around at all the workmanship, to see If there is anything I see that I can use in my future projects. Coming from a construction background, I always look at what kind of work other craftsman are doing. My wife always says to me, when we go out to eat at some new restaurant, " Quit looking for flaws, and eat your meal". I guess that is just common nature for anyone who builds something.

Most of all, I would just relax, and enjoy. :) ;):xD

  4. I believe that the first thing I would do when I win the blog cabin would be to let my adult children know where I was moving to so that they could come and visit me. To get a chance to start over again would be heavenly. I have thanked the Blog Cabin team many times during the sweepstakes running and I would do that again. To be able to spend my golden years with my husband happily swimming, fishing and even sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee discussing the days events (such as the grand kids visiting). Wow! Good luck to all, someones dreams will soon be coming true.<3

  6. Cornhole is really a super fun game, but where did the name come from?

paulinLA on September 5, 2013 at 2:37 pm
    • The correct name for the game is 'bean bag toss'. It comes from the midwestern Native peoples, probably Blackhawk and was played by the white settlers in the midwest who learned it from them. It was 'rediscovered in the mid 1930's in Ohio and renamed 'cornhole'. However, this has another, less savory meaning that I'll not write here. :$ If you need more information try

As a proud midwestener I'm going to start campaigning for the correct terminology – not 'cornhole'.;):)

  8. I'd make a pot of tea, grab a book and plop down on the Waterside Porch where I could look at the water over the top of my book whenever I wanted!

  9. Thank you "Team Crashers" for the heart and soul that each person has put into the building of this home.Special thanks to all others such as lighting and camera crews and to everyone goes a great big THANKS.
