  1. We did some grilling today, and I began to imagine what those pork chops and ribs would taste like after using the Outdoor Kitchen. So, we rewatched the Yard Crashers episode… Man that kitchen and fire pit patio look sweet!

  5. The dock is the perfect landscape. From the dock I can see the beautiful beach and all the outdoor spaces that the blog cabin has to offer. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that this land has to offer.

  6. Hope everyone will have a great Labor Day holiday! It is hot as a July 4th firecracker here!! I can imagine how nice it would be on the beach and in/on the water at the blog cabin. Along with dreaming…after catching a big haul of fish, there would a delicious fish fry in that beautiful outdoor kitchen for a mouth watering feast to share. Yum!!!!!!!!

  7. I have not read all of the posts so I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this before. I am intrigued by the colorful rooster that is pictured (#8) at the top of the West Side Porch steps. It reminds me of the symbol of the Emmaus Community. Any comments from the builder and/or designer?

    • I thought I saw or read that the rooster collection belonged to one of the previous owners; and supposedly there are others scattered around! I SO love the colorful rooster too!

  8. Muscadine grapevines planted on three sides of the pergola. We purchased some wine made from this variety of grapes at a small winery near Warm Springs, Georgia. Might have to learn how to make some. LOL

    • how was it, tart, sweet, dry?

COOLSMILEY on September 2, 2013 at 10:12 am
    • All the muscadine wine I've ever had is sweet, a desert wine or aperitif. :p

  9. The pebble path really makes areas of this yard and porch welcoming. There is so much about this yard that I love! The pier adds a special touch and I really like the video that takes you for a virtual walk on the pier. After catching fish from siting on the pier, it will be great to cook it on the grill for family and friends. Oh—-all the great memories the winner will have in this superb home! The DIY crew has already created many fun memories in this home that I have enjoyed watching and will always remember, (the walk on top the shelter, the race with the dozers, making the creative piece of art with the sling-shot paint, creating the piece of wood used for the table and the many other projects created in this great yard). Thank you DIY team!

  10. I can't wait until tonight to tune in to watch 5 back-to-back episodes of Blog Cabin 2013 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm eastern time. They will be showing Matt and the team transforming this wonderful yard we all love, into a spectabular entertaining area at 9:00pm eastern time, and then Jason Cameron and his crew at 9:30pm who will be transforming this beautiful seaside yard into the magical paradise we have all been admiring and blogging about! What a perfect way to spend our Labor Day evening!!
