  1. The outdoor kitchen area is phenomenal! We have a grill surround in our own yard and we use it ALL THE TIME!!! Brilliant to have added such a feature in the Blog Cabin!

  2. The outdoor kitchen area is like the frosting on the cake of the blog cabin. Who wouldn't want to hang out in this kitchen area. Not only is it a beautiful, inviting space, but it is so well built. I can hardly imagine what it was like to have to dig down 8 feet to secure the posts. What a well thought out, fantastic gathering place surrounded by all that nature has to offer. Just caught fish on the grill, fresh baked pecan pie….later, gathering around the warmth of the fire pit for some roasted marshmallows…… then off to all the cozy comforts of the indoor spaces only steps away. Sweet dreams everyone—someone has to win it. Maybe a blogger this time?

  3. I will echo the comments on the Outdoor Kitchen. Since I love cooking, the outdoor kitchen is a must for cooking during the hot, summer weather. Nothing can be finer, than to do some cooking under the breezes from the ceiling fan, and the freshness of the country air. Ah, Yes, Life is so good.

    • Outdoor cooking is something to be done regardless of the weather if that marvelous grilled flavor is what you are after. I've done whole roasts on the grill in January in MN, just because I could not get the flavor I wanted any other way.

  4. Although the outdoor covered kitchen complete with fire pit is beautiful and will likely be a popular pick, I cannot resist the porches. They are the epitome of southern charm and hospitality. This home is an outdoor dream. I can picture our family fishing off the dock, grilling our fresh catch and gathering for a game of horseshoes. Beautiful job.

  5. I know we are now into the third HGTV blogger giveaway, but still wondering which blogger we get to congratulate on winning that beautiful quilt ensemble. Mary, will you be revealing that bit of news soon?

    joyfulj9 on August 23, 2013 at 10:15 am
    • I wonder the same. What about bedding?

  6. Evidently something went haywire with the last G/G Giveaway, maybe because there were so many entries,
Mary got 'Blogged' down in the time frame she had to announce the winner…There was an over flow of comments that had to be read and then entered for the drawing…I'm sure she is taking care of it and we will know soon who the lucky winner of the Quilt Set is..:)

  7. Good Morning All!! This is a very cool piece that any of us design buffs would certainly enjoy! The master bedspread was the first time I have ever blogged in my life. Just noticed the icons, wondered where everyone got the hearts! I am so in love with this home. The history, repurposing, and area, tug at my heart strings. After the lay-off of my life, I need repurposing and want to go back to the beach from where I came. Thanks for the opportunity to look to the future and not dwell on the present ! (Still haven't figured the icons out!!)

  8. YEA!!! A new blogging place to post!!!!! I was hoping everything would start moving agian. I agree with Jennie, I think there were just so many entries that the system got blogged down.:)

nanwes on August 23, 2013 at 10:36 am
  9. All the outdoor spaces as well as any windows that look out onto the outdoors are equally great to me! They really knocked this one 'out of the park'! Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)<3

nanwes on August 23, 2013 at 10:37 am
  10. The pergola is my first choice. I can picture myself sitting there enjoying the views of nature, and the entire homestead, and thinking this must be a dream, because it's just too perfect to be real.
