Cabin Comforts Gift Set Winner

Blog Cabin 2013 Dylan Eastman and Kayleen McCabe

Congrats to Annette Harris of Morgan, UT. She is the proud winner of our Cabin Comforts gift set. An identical gift set will be presented to the winner of the Blog Cabin 2013 Giveaway.

Keep checking the blog for additional info on this year’s home. We have yet to cover landscape details, creative outdoor spaces and building challenges, plus Core Sound culture. The photo above was captured over the weekend, as project manager Dylan Eastman put the finishing touches on the outdoor kitchen. Rescue Renovation show host Kayleen McCabe popped by for a tour of the home and was happy to lend a helping hand.

I am pretty certain you will flip when you see the virtual tour of this amazing property!

    • Yes, thank you for the new post thread, Mary! Aren't we chompin' at the bit, no Cabin Cam around to soothe our anxious bones! Dylan and Laurie, I love the fan you selected and installed at the outdoor kitchen! In fact, I have the same indoor-outdoor fan(s) 2 of them on my back porch, though mine are in an antiqued bronze/sort of rusty color. They're great fans and put out lots of air circulation–great choice! :D GRSWLA, I agree with you on those closets! Hope they are spacious, storage being at a premium! Please see: In Laurie and Dylan's antique pump remodel video on HGTVRemodels, I saw what looked like the roof of something–behind the "storage side wall" of the BC! Am i just an ol' lady dreamin' or hallucinating? This BC does that to one…. Have gone through that video a few more times, trying to figure what that is–it came and went SO fast! Could that be a storage shed? Belong to neighbor's (side where boat inlet is)? Any thoughts? Surprise shed for winner? Oh please, let it be so, DIY!!!:DxDB)<3 Kitty

    • Hi Kitty, from Cicada central here, lol. When you view the video see what time in the video(on the lower right) that your sighting occurs. (darn bugs)

    • Hi Sam! Sorry about your cicadas–they can be deafeningly noisy! I was mistaken about noting this possible structure in the antique pump video I mentioned. BAD Senior moment on my part! Went back to video, Remodeling of Blog Cabin 2013–and found the split-second item that I hope, means there IS storage outside–but then, I do have those senior moments, so don't hold my mind responsible…. Here's where I found it, though I couldn't freeze-frame the video. Looking at the numbers on the bottom of the 3:01 video, Slide your number thingy all the way to near the end of video, just at the last 0:20 second mark. Easy to miss if one blinks. There's a fence-looking thing and next to the opposite side I see a roof, mostly. It seems too close to our BC to be a neighbor's structure, but could be, I suppose. Tell me what you think? Also, less than a split second, during the introduction to each video, try to catch what's on the right hand side, looking from the dock. I think most of the work trucks, trailers and things were already moved from the property, when the intro was filmed. Again, split second blinks! Good luck!!! :D ;):p Kitty

    • Ok Kitty, What you see on the other side of the sea container, that they were using for storage, is the roof and part of the second story of the next door neighbors house. You can stop it if you view full screen and freeze it using the play stop icon on the bottom left(ll=play,>=stop) We have to think that after Chris and Dylan both said no storage that we aren't getting it. But like Dylan said it would have to be built with the same restrictions as the cabin, which means raising it like they did the cabin. So a manageable grade for a ramp or other structure would be about 35' long ramp. Guess we will have to think of something ourselves

  6. Cool — Morgan, Utah's Annette Harris lays claim to the Blog Cabin Comforts gift set this year.

And what a Blog Cabin it will be. Not only will I surely flip when the virtual tour is revealed, but if I happen to be the BC's lucky winner, I'll do cartwheels right off the dock! (I think I'd have to get in a little practice first…)

    • That's something I will hold u to! Wouldn't that be a cool thread, DC Coop and his traveling doggie doing cartwheels off the dock of the bay, certainly would have a lot of bloogers smiling = )
