  1. This is a first for me, the items I voted for are all in first place, at least for now. A nice selection to vote on once again. It looks like a busy day at the BC again.

Windsmurf on April 18, 2013 at 10:29 am
    • Hi Windsmurf, they have been very busy these past couple days. I can't wait for Saturday to see the filming. Much Love!! <3<3

  2. Excited to vote on new comforts! Thanks for the heads up on a viewing opportunity for Saturday! I'm enjoying seeing all the happenings today with the Mega Dens crew there.

    • I am so excited as well! Come on Saturday!!! haha Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:01 pm
  3. Very nice selection, I went with the white baskets though, they match the wicker look and I don't like the idea of little wheels rolling all over hardwood ;-) There's so much going on on the camera that I almost forgot we were getting a new vote today lol… I hate to say it, but right now, with so much going on inside, as much as I'd love to be that little mouse in there, we might get trampled! Maybe when they get a little corner calmed down, they will think of us…..;-)

    karenlin91 on April 18, 2013 at 10:47 am
    • Hi, Karenlin, I went with the white baskets as well, the ones with the little rolling wheels are not that good on floors–I've had to replace my floors due to the wheels on chairs…Here's to hoping they do remember us!!!

TishaStanley on April 19, 2013 at 8:30 am
  4. I don't know much about the candle scents(wife's department) but I got the majority vote right so far.

    540sam on April 18, 2013 at 10:54 am
  5. Nice selection! That big tall woven basket would make a great laundry basket in the mudroom! I happen to have a throw in that deep ruby color and it's so pretty and will fit anywhere one wants to curl up with a book and read. I think there will be lots of white already so accent colors will work well in this cabin. Oh, happy, happy, joy! joy! ;) :DxD<3 Kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on April 18, 2013 at 11:01 am
    • Yea, I like the Garnet color throw. But I thing I like the Rolling Storage Crates better then the baskits!
Though with the Candles, I can't stand Pomegranate… I voted for the Green Apple. Much better!!! ;)
      <3 Ya miss Kitty!
      Frank S.

asandmancan on April 18, 2013 at 2:27 pm
    • Hi Frank! :) <3 back at ya, young Friend!!! I like the rolling crates, but, because there's little floor space, I was concerned about stubbing a toe or something like that–besides, I really hope they will use as many of the old/antique things from the Robinson Family, which includes natural wood bowls and porcelain so again, I'm scouring for space. That's my rationale. I didn't care at all for the rounded basket's appearance and space issue. I'm not big on Pomegranate either–but the choices were slim on candles, which I love. My preference would have been something with a bit of orange spice/maybe with apple; vanilla strawberry, berries are OK so I just hope the berries do their deed and the pomegranate just tags along for the ride…. Thanks for sharing! :D xD;)B)<3 Kitty

    • Eather way, there just the trinkets of the BC… I would be happy to win the Home even if it came with Skunk sented candles!!!! ^_^
Do we know the Sq Ft of the completed home yeat?

asandmancan on April 18, 2013 at 4:24 pm
    • About 2060 sq ft. They have the totals for each floor at the end of the descriptions on the new floor plan images.:)

Clive on April 18, 2013 at 5:04 pm
    • Thank you, I'm going to check it out now!

asandmancan on April 18, 2013 at 5:45 pm
    • Frank, be careful what you ask for! :D Although…hmmmm, those skunk scented candles might come in handy, keeping people from swiping your copper mailbox–that is, if you can live with skunk scented mail, yourself! Oh, poor Mail Carrier! "neither rain, nor snow, nor skunk can keep the mail from delivery…" LOL!;)o.0:'( kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on April 18, 2013 at 9:58 pm
    • LoL~ Hey when you've never won any thing in you're life, you take what you can get!!!! ^_^

asandmancan on April 18, 2013 at 10:10 pm
    • Well, Frank, when you and your Mom move into the BC, and I come to visit the 1st time, don't be surprised what flavor your house warming gift is going to be. it'll warm us all up real fast…just runnin' as fast as we can — away from those skunk-scented candles you asked for ! Talk about BLAZING TRAILS through the woods…. we'll be painting smoke condensation trails behind us…B);):p<3 Gotta' love it!<3 Kitty

    • Hi, DwnSoDwnEaster! I was woundering what part of down east your from? I'm from Bucksport but now live in Waterville.^_^

      WE-Z on April 19, 2013 at 8:43 am
    • Hi WE-Z, I am from a small town called Brooks which is near Belfast which is not too far from Bucksport. My folks retired from there to another really small town called Addison, which I acquired when they passed away (their house, not the town). Up until a couple of years ago when I had to sell the place, I drove through Bucksport many, many times and drove past Waterville on 95 many many times. I should have waved to you:p

Windsmurf on April 19, 2013 at 9:26 am
    • Hi, WE-Z! The last remnant of my immediate Family is in New Harbor, Bristol. Regretfully, I don't live Downeast, as my Hubby has a financial planning firm in SE Virginia. We make our way home every Summer, and HOPE retirement may bring us back. My close relatives also settled Bath, Pownal, Dresden, Portland and others, mostly Midcoast, since the early 1600's. I happened to be born away, because my parents were missionaries in Brasil, when I came due. But my heart belongs to Maine!<3 :D <3 Kitty

    • HOORAY!!! Thanks for the heads up, Sam! I feel safer already! :D xD:p Kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on April 19, 2013 at 3:22 pm
    • Good grief! WE-Z and Windsmurf–I cannot believe it! There is some grinch on this blog that hit and REMOVED the DOWNEAST thumbs up I gave each of you! I can't imagine a reason, unless someone doesn't like Maine or me, because surely there is NOTHING anyone could ever find wrong with you two!! I'm so bummmmmbed! I don't get bad attitudes–never will.:S:o=/<3<3 Kitty

  6. All I can say is: The Cabin Cam is awesome! That has been one of the best parts of this build! I have no idea of the complexity or costs or maintenance required but thanks for making it happen!
Oh Shucks Mary wish I got DIY love to see you. I guess I'll have to wave from here.

Ashtabulannie on April 18, 2013 at 11:07 am
    • Hokimom, how is it that you get HGTV and not DIY? How sad. The Cabin Cam IS awesome, I wish I could get it to see further inside the home. I can’t wait for the TV Shows.

      Eugenia27 on April 18, 2013 at 6:15 pm
    • Good Question Eugenia!!! Ready to CUT the cable! Bunch of garbage on most of the time. In reality, I hardly watch any TV. Except for: PBS-Downton Abby, NOVA Call the Midwife, etc or I'm doing homework, playing in the mud and playing music! Mostly just watch the news. So I don't really miss it. Usually end up watching the online Videos.

Ashtabulannie on April 18, 2013 at 7:06 pm
    • Hokiemom, just be sure not to get any mud on your homework ! I watched HGTV ( from its fledgling year) on cable, but never could get DIY until we changed from cable to satellite. However, I'd have to say that with all the additional channels–there is till not a whole lot on that I choose to watch. Since my husband often watches shows i'd rather not see, I have shared the other tv with my younger son…and now at 27, he watches HGTV and DIY along with me ! Smart man. He loves Mike Holmes (and Vanilla Ice's construction show).

LLColeman on April 24, 2013 at 8:18 pm
    • HAHA, I will be waving with you! I also love the cam. It just makes you feel like you are right there. I would give anything to be there. Heck I would even love to be just camping out on the property watching and doing some fishing from the pier. It is such a beautiful place. Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:08 pm
    • Rebecca, it would be fun to be doing property security and water testing at the Blog Cabin…it would ensure the best outcome for the contest winner and give DIY some peace of mind….;) ^_^

LLColeman on April 24, 2013 at 8:21 pm
  7. Thank you Mary for the second set of Cabin Comforts.. Very nice things to choose from..All could be used
in both bedrooms and other parts of the Cottage!
I Can't wait to see Who will show up for the Filming on Saturday..I wish that while They are there, the Ones Who are Hands On and have Contributed to the Rebuild and Decorating would "sign in" and give a Shout Out to the Bloggers who are Sitting and Patiently waiting for a "Hello" Sign posted on the Grapevines..
We Look forward to Signs from All..There have been so many Camera Cam malfunctions and We lose live Viewing as it goes to Panorama View and We miss quite a bit…So I hope this doesn't happen on Saturday because We want to be part of the Excitement tooo…Thank you Mary, We appreciate all that You do…Have a good day!!!:p;):)<3

    Jennie/Florida on April 18, 2013 at 11:22 am
    • Jennie maybe the blog should send out a big ole belated Birthday wish to Anitra. Her Birthday was Monday April 15th! She is my FAVorite indoor DIY designer–I gotta lotta love for her and her boys Joey and Mikey :)
Do you think Joey has built a bookcase designed like Blackbeard the Pirate? or maybe a Starfish? or maybe the Cape Lookout Lighthouse? LOL
I can't wait to see what Anitra & her boys, have done with the Mega Dens space!! Last year they left an autographed pic in the Mega Dens space along with some nice electronic Toys for the winner. Anitra is really creative….I bet she is loving repurposing materials from the original home and using original decor pieces in her design.
A note on the grapevine from Anitra and her crew would be Great!

Mel on April 18, 2013 at 6:55 pm
    • Hi Mel, the Guys were building Something tall & wide with trim and had some kind of etching or ripples down the old wood boards. Nothing as elaborate and Fun as Your choices! LOL.. I couldn't figure out exactly what they were building because every time I tried to move in closer the dumb Cam would change direction totally and I would end up in the dirt or the grass and it would take forever to get back to the Guys..It got to be so aggravating, I finally gave up. The Camera Cam was really busy today !!!
The Guys "could" have been building a bookcase or bookcases for all those books the Robinson's had in that Lovely Cottage… Remember? They had books "Everywhere" in the Cottage and I would love to go through them and read to find out what kind of books they liked and what their interest were..The books would tell Us so much about them!! Maybe the Winner will get that chance!! ^_^:) Dear Mel, Maybe You will be the Lucky winner:p:)^_^<3..Have a Good Evening!!!:p

      Jennie/Florida on April 18, 2013 at 10:35 pm
    • Hi Jennie, I am soooooo excited about Saturday!!! I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight just so excited. It is a shame that this is the most exciting thing in my life right now! haha Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:09 pm
    • Hi Rebecca, We Bloggers are Excited about Tomorrow and can't wait to see Who they will be filming and if We will get to see any of the Designers and maybe Mary will show up for this Occasion..It Would so nice to finally get to see "Our Dear Mary" whom We blog to all the time:p^_^ This week I did see Anitra Mega Dens and Chris Lundy Host of this BC's Journey…Tomorrow Should be a Fun Day and I'm really looking forward to it…I JUST HOPE the Camera Cam Behaves and "NO" Panorama panning on this Exciting Day!!! Get a Good Nights rest so you will be rested and ready for Tomorrow!!!:pB)<3

      Jennie/Florida on April 19, 2013 at 8:16 pm
  8. Good Morning, Would it be possible at this time, even tho everyone voted for the darker kitchen cabinets,
to install a lighter color cabinet…even light painted ones would be terrific! Since this is a "cottage by the sea"
Blog Cabin, lighter would be more coastal…what do you think??!!! Thank you all for your hard work and for
giving these beautiful cabins away!!! :)

Ethel on April 18, 2013 at 11:35 am
    • I believe we were voting on the style of the cabinets, not necessarily the color. At least that was the impression I got when we were voting.^_^

JudyInMich on April 18, 2013 at 12:34 pm
    • Hi Ethel, if you go back to the People's Choice voting "Kitchen," you will see that you were asked to choose the "Cabinet Door Style" not the color of the Cabinets…l Hope this helps:) I'm looking for White or Cream colored Cabinets for this Coastal setting!!^_^

      Jennie/Florida on April 18, 2013 at 12:38 pm
    • I imagine that the cabinets have already been purchased…..possibly even installed by now.

RLD on April 19, 2013 at 7:08 pm
    • Hi RLD, if I'm not mistaken the Kitchen Crasher Alison Victoria will be doing this Kitchen and I think they will wait for Her before they install the Cabinets…Can't be for certain, but that is how it usually goes..Each Crasher/Designer will do their "Speciaity Room"or Rooms from scratch, with their Own Crew…:) I Can't wait to get started with the Rooms and maybe get a peek every so often, if they aren't going to put a Camera inside! I guess we will have to wait and see what they will Share with We Bloggers!!!o.0B)^_^

      Jennie/Florida on April 19, 2013 at 8:34 pm
    • I am sure they probably have already purchased and had them delivered by now. Sorry. Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:11 pm
  9. I love the choices for this set of comforts!! Thanks to all for the hard work on this cabin, we bloggers certainly do appreciate it!

TishaStanley on April 18, 2013 at 2:30 pm
    • I totally agree Tisha! Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:12 pm
  10. My husband wants to know if the guy who was fishing off the dock/pier this morning caught anything. ;-) And I missed zooming in on it a few days ago but I saw something BIG jumping out in the water. I was on the first pic when you switch to the water view, and it would barely fit between the thumb and rest of the hand on the little cursor thing…so it was pretty big….Of course it was gone when I tried to zoom in!

    karenlin91 on April 18, 2013 at 3:04 pm
    • There were dolphins off the pier a few weeks back. Maybe they've returned.xD

Clive on April 18, 2013 at 5:09 pm
    • That was my thought, or hope ;-)

      karenlin91 on April 18, 2013 at 5:43 pm
    • The Core Ness monster.;)

      540sam on April 18, 2013 at 7:48 pm
    • LOL now I really wish I'd been able to zoom in on it ! ;-)

      karenlin91 on April 18, 2013 at 8:21 pm
    • I thought the alligators ate the Core Ness when they had a party with the bull sharks.

zulumom on April 19, 2013 at 4:31 pm
    • Naw zulumom, Core Ness Knows gators dont like salt water and the dolphins ran the sharks off.xD

      540sam on April 19, 2013 at 4:50 pm
    • It is such a beautiful place you can't help but not want to be fishing there just about every morning. Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 19, 2013 at 7:14 pm
    • There has been some biggg sharks caught in the sound too.Last summer the shrimpers had to keep chicken wire on their tail bags to keep the sharks from biting chunks out of their nets.

TonyE on April 19, 2013 at 7:39 pm
    • How big Tony, do I have to dust off my 130#s?

      540sam on April 19, 2013 at 8:29 pm
    • A couple 10' tigers landed and some 6-8'black tips.My step brothers nets had 12-18" holes in his nets.I don't get out much so there are probably more.

TonyE on April 19, 2013 at 8:45 pm
    • Thanks TonyE that's why I don't swim in the ocean!
Mary Lee was off the coast of the Cape Lookout National Seashore in late Jan on the Atlantic Ocean side. She's a 3,500 pound Great White Shark and winter visitor to the beautiful OBX, no doubt enjoying all the tasty fish there are along the coast line. She's tagged and being tracked by Ocearch Global Shark Tracker, and she has her own youtube videos. I haven't been to the Ocearch website lately to see where Mary Lee currently is. Last time I checked though she was making her way back up to the Cape Cod area where she was tagged. My brothers love to windsurf. I always watch them nervously from the shore like I'm their mom hoping they don't encounter any sharks!
