    • That depends on what you call the front – we've had that discussion before. Look at Bingmaps and put in 448 Seashore Dr Atlantic NC and you'll see the original house and its orientation with Core Sound – the new one is situated the same way with the water straight out from the double door on the big deck. The ocean is another few miles across the sound and the barrier beach.

  2. Is there going to be a pool and hot tub to in joy the nice summer nights?

    • Whatever would you need a pool for? There's Core Sound at the bottom of the yard and all summer it's warm and you can swim in clean, not chlorinated, water. The water's very shallow and even at the end of the pier it's only about 3ft deep ao it's very safe for children too. If DIY built a pool it would flood every time the yard floods (every big storm) and need cleaning competely. Plus all the maintenance costs just to keep it functional. Also they would need to fence it all around and construct a deck etc. The cost would be huge and the payback little to nothing. A pool here would be a money pit and completely unnecessary. A hot tub, however, would be fun. :)

  3. Wonderful job so far….perfect setting for a beautiful home. I have traveled to New Bern and there are shopping areas and grocery stores just like most populated places. The lot only appears to be desolate:) I keep watching the progress and like another person asked…is there going to be a garage….and/or perhaps an attached gardening shed facing the water? What a wonderful area to have a garden and lots of native plants to attract the birds and wildlife! No matter what a person enjoys I am sure this could be anyones shangrila!
