  1. Nice Choices, DIY!
The L.L.Bean selections are especially good.

    Lester B. on April 4, 2013 at 11:41 pm
    • I worked at L.L.Bean for several years. One thing with them is they no longer make things here, to bad for we Mainers! The things they do make are the boat and tote, and the Maine hunting boot.:(

  3. Good Morning All….

TishaStanley on April 5, 2013 at 6:58 am
    • Good morning, the red truck is at the cabin already.

      vicki_in_Utah on April 5, 2013 at 7:43 am
    • Yeah, I think it's been there all night. It seems to stay. How are you this morning?

TishaStanley on April 5, 2013 at 7:53 am
    • Morning Tisha.

      540sam on April 5, 2013 at 8:06 am
    • Tisha, Good morning! The red truck was there all night. I can't wait to see the inside of the cabin! Have a wonderful day today. TGIF! Becky:)<3

    • I don't who was up watching, but they were working inside all night.

      540sam on April 5, 2013 at 8:15 am
    • I wasn't up past 1:00 a.m. but it makes you wonder….I know they have a time line, and they're really good about keeping us all in suspense, so maybe, this is their way of keeping us "out of the loop", not thinking that some of us have insomnia or are used to being up all hours of the night…we might not notice the truck being there all night….Have a wonderful day!! :)

TishaStanley on April 5, 2013 at 9:07 am
    • I agree! Waiting to see the inside is just soooo hard….not like we have a choice in that, though…LOL. Yes, TGIF!! My nieces go home today :( and my granddaughter comes today :) …it seems that I am surrounded by little people…LOL All in all, it's been a wonderful week, so I'm anticipating that today and the weekend will be wonderful as well.

TishaStanley on April 5, 2013 at 9:04 am

  5. Morning everyone! It's a nice day here in Maine, sun is shining birds are singing. We're heading to our log cabin in the Maine woods. I did my voting for the weekend and tried to take a peak at the cabin but the cam is tide up. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Blog on Monday.:)

  6. Good Morning! Another night of cabin lit up and someone staying there. Love the night view but, like others, can't see much through the windows. The cabin itself is taking on a look like it has been there all along. It seems to melt in to the scenery very much like it belongs.

Grammagail on April 5, 2013 at 9:33 am
    • Hi Grammagail and everyone! You said exactly what I was thinking, that this little cottage is getting its Easter Dress on for the next 100 or so years! May the cabin and the owners live beautiful, peaceful lives and pass this lovely place down to their descendants…

BrookwoodCarolina on April 5, 2013 at 6:46 pm
  7. Good morning all ! Bythebaydreamer ! I was on late last night, actually until early this AM like you. Went off a little before you. Unfortunatly was not able to see anyone. that would be interesting. The lights are so bright all through the house and the outside too ! Did I see water in the ruts from the trucks? Did it recently rain there? Usually check the weather site when I zoom or whatever. Great fun voting on the gifts! Have a great day every one . Have to check the cam one more time. ;) <3

Nan on April 5, 2013 at 12:07 pm

  8. Hi All, Night before last my husband (Carl, who is now officially hooked too!) and I noticed that the guy in the red truck was there all night, working at least most of it…..I saw him up on a scaffold upstairs, looked like he was working on the ceiling, around 11 or so blog time. And I swear, even with the bright lights from outside, I saw no contrast from the mud and the purple drywall….I think they have painted, at least in places, hard to tell from all the lights though. I have a feeling major things are going on in there.;-) Getting antsier by the minute, think I need to follow Builder's advise and breathe deep and practice patience………. but it's really really hard!;-)

    karenlin91 on April 5, 2013 at 1:55 pm
    • A good way to develop patience, is to: Breathe deeply several times, close your eyes, avoid caffeine, and drink some dairy product, and you will be fast asleep. When you awake, all will be better. Soft drinks and coffee make lots of people very impatient. Construction takes time, soooooooooo just relax. :) Some of my construction friends are so happy when noone, especially women, visits their site. Like someone said several threads ago, some people wanted it done yesterday, or the day before, or etc. I will probably get a lot of flack from this, but that is the way construction works. Have a great evening, a great weekend, and, SMILE.

Builder on April 5, 2013 at 3:11 pm
    • ;-) :-) '-) ;-) , Awwwww Builder, I said I was gonna take your advise. ;-) And no flack, okay, I know the construction takes time (even more time on the repairs, etc I've made on my own house).. and how can we stay up and try to see at night without lots of caffeine?lol Actually, I think it's the not being able to SEE what's going on, that's driving us nuts! We've been reduced to fighting the camera to see the work on the dock, and staying up late becoming peeping toms to try to see what's going on inside, it's really pitiful!
Maybe if someone would post pics of something inside, if they won't let us in with the camera, it would help? Like I said, no flack okay, we all know it takes time, and the crew is really good to keep on working and doing their thing with who knows how many people looking over their shoulder ;-) They're doing a wonderful job!

      karenlin91 on April 5, 2013 at 4:15 pm
    • Karin- I was kinda kidding when I mentioned the flack. I know, everyone wants to see the finished project, so we will just have to enjoy the show. Have a super evening. :) :) It would be no surprise, if everything is shown. Did you notice the great progress on the deck/pier? See how smooth the edges are after the uneven pieces were cut off. The guys are doing one fantastic job.

Builder on April 5, 2013 at 5:24 pm
    • Yeah, they are doing an awesome job, and we've watched them smooth the edges, perfect! It's a beautiful pier/dock. If they added a ladder to get up and down to a boat, and some bolts to hook those triangle shades to, I would be happy to call it done! And I am enjoying the show, have gotten my husband addicted too, and that's hard to do, lol. I just want a little bit more show! ;-) Maybe it will help when they start working on the yard.;-) You have a good evening too…..and a great weekend. ;-)

      karenlin91 on April 5, 2013 at 5:59 pm
    • Hi Builder and Bloggers Everywhere! You made me smile. I imagine the builders really get enough womanly advice at home on their own Honey-Do Lists! We all understand, but you know how excited we get and you guys, who are mostly in control, are certainly used to that? I loved your advice. This experience is addicting, though, and it wakes me up sometimes, just to check on it… I think it's fun to know I'm not the only one! It seems to me that this has come along super fast, considering the beginning we had, making a new foundation, lifting the cabin, saving the main house…wow… just think of all that we've seen manifested in such a short time! You need to SMILE when you think about the women who push you all to do your best. I personally think that if women had been more accepted in the construction business when I went to school, I might have been a contractor, or architect, or even just a carpenter, electrician or plumber… I like making beautiful things. We all appreciate all the builders, never doubt that…

BrookwoodCarolina on April 5, 2013 at 6:54 pm
    • Thanks for the good words.

Builder on April 5, 2013 at 7:23 pm
    • Not enough good words to explain it, but you're welcome for the words, but the Thank You will always be in your corner ;=)

BrookwoodCarolina on April 7, 2013 at 8:40 am
    • Brook women are in construction in every aspect, I have personally seen it elvolve over the years, anyone in construction can tell you they are plumbers, carpenters, buldozer operators, formen, supertendents, inspectors, engineers, surveyors and any other aspect of construction that men do from the office to the field and a lot do it better than the men because they push themselves to be better. Trust me i've done this for years and been on thousands of jobs.:D

      540sam on April 5, 2013 at 11:16 pm
    • Hi 540 Sam! I know they are, now. Times have changed–I was just thinking about how my dad always wanted me to be "an engineer" but since math wasn't my strong suit, I discarded the idea of getting into construction. I admire all the people who can work together to produce such beautiful homes for others. To me, it's like sitting down at a computer–I know how to work it (somewhat) but have no idea how to fix it, or even less, how to make it. YOU guys and girls in the construction business have that deep knowledge that most of us lack. And one reason I enjoy watching all the how-to shows is just to figure it out, and I have used a lot of what I learned, myself. I built a deck, put a roof on an outdoor room I finished, hung a door, put in a faucet (several), plastered, laid carpet, I even cut a hole in the wall of my trailer and put in a stained glass window… none of it was picture perfect though like what you guys do. I learn how by watching others, and I love the ideas I get about doing more creative things. Now I'm not as energetic as I used to be, but I still have a stubborn streak enough to try… The reply was a way of saying Thank You to all the bloggers for their input and to the real skill behind the scenes, with the loving energy to pull it all together, and to you, and Builder and Clive and all the others who are out there in the weather every day, making this happen!

BrookwoodCarolina on April 7, 2013 at 8:39 am
  9. Woe, a lot of work has been done on the dock/pier!!! Looks good! Now if they'd just let us have a peek inside the cabin…..

TishaStanley on April 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm
    • meant Wow….sorry

DwnSoDwnEaster on April 7, 2013 at 2:41 pm
    • Hi Tisha and everyone! I would love to have a camera inside, if for no other reason than to get the feel of being inside, but like you, I would be satisfied with a couple of photos ;=)

BrookwoodCarolina on April 6, 2013 at 12:40 am
  10. Hi guys! How is everyone today? The BC is coming along nicely. I love the dock. I don't see too much going on right but they are doing so much that we can't see it is driving me crazy!! haha I am just so excited. I know it takes time and they have to have some surprises but it gives me something to do watching them. I already did my voting so I am good for that today. Hmmm guess I will go look at more pics and see if the cam will cooperate now. haha Much Love!! <3<3
