  1. Wow, outstanding and the cabin "before" photos are amazing and I could not ask for more. Was on the Atlantic Coast this past week on Hutchinson Island, Fla and was dreaming about North Carolina. I have family there all over NC and would love to make a move to be closer to them and all my other southern family.

  2. Good Early Morning Bloggers,
I just looked at the Cabin Cam, it's 4:40am, and there is a truck parked by the house with it's lights on. Looks like someone is getting a really early start for the day. I wonder what is on the agenda for the day?

    chris50555 on April 2, 2013 at 4:54 am
    • Chris, the lights arent on, its a reflection from the flood lights on the tree. I think its been there all night.

      540sam on April 2, 2013 at 4:58 am
    • Thanks 540sam. I had not been on the camera since early Monday so I would bet that the truck has been there all night long. Oops.

      chris50555 on April 2, 2013 at 5:33 am
    • I don't think the truck was there all night, I didn't see it after 7:30….

TishaStanley on April 2, 2013 at 6:40 am
    • I did. I looked at 8:30pm mst so I think that would be 10:30 BC time. The truck was there. It was so nice to see the house with the flood lights on it.

      vicki_in_Utah on April 2, 2013 at 9:12 am
    • I saw it too–but it was the cabin lights that were on. I couldn't make out whether it was AR Roby's red truck or the other red one that was there yesterday. It seemed to me it was there very late. I thought maybe they left a truck to make the place seem inhabited. I know I shouldn't be suspicious, but we must prevent theft, and not enable thieves to make an easy time of it. Just a thought. I could be wrong. I don't think anyone was working inside, for it looked like there were no extra lights on inside, and I didn't see any movement. Isn't it great that we have so many interested onlookers that we watch after the BC, 24/7?!

  3. Good morning, All my BC Friends!! The coffee is being made, I'm up early to finish a homework assignment. Remember when I said I had one more class and I'm done? Well, I have one more then I'm really done. I was told I was on my last class,,,anyway, it's all good. Also, yesterday I said the snow here was gone, but was flurrying but not staying? Well, again, I was wrong…..I woke up to snow on the ground. Thankfully not much and not enough to hurt my flowers that are starting to come up. Have a Wonderful Day!!

  4. While we're waiting to start the day at BC2013, the pics and tours of SmartHome 2013 are up and running!

Here's a link for those of you that can't get to the pics/tour from the main screen!! Enjoy!

MGYinSC on April 2, 2013 at 7:07 am
    • Thanks, MGYinSC! I always enter the Dream Home and Green Home (Smart Home) sweeps. Trouble is, I get so excited about the possibility of winning that I actually plan my move-in! HaHa. Like I don't know better! I have been frustrated by the Smart Home website, and when I tried to blog, I actually had someone hack my email account, and the information disappeared, and I never could use the site. I was tired of trying, and keep checking every day just to see what they have up. It is really beautiful. So spectacular. Nothing like our little blog cabin, but still a real dream! I'll check out your link asap. Thanks again and Best of Luck to you and all the bloggers in all the sweeps…

BrookwoodCarolina on April 2, 2013 at 8:53 pm
    • Thank you MGYinSC ! Went from yours to site and ,Thanks for the info.;) <3 More fun ! ;) Need to have more hours in each day to keep-up with everything. Not complaining. Have a great night so you can vote on the DIY gifts in the AM <3 . Best to everyone. ;) <3

  6. I found the neatest thing this morning, and it would be a great housewarming item for the beach house! I happened to see it in the new Acacia catalog ( on pg. 4 — item # 54753 – $149.95. it's an "oars coat rack", with 3 oars, metal with distressed painted finish, 3 double hooks and a small center dish for keey, cell phones, etc. Absolutely perfect for the Blog Cabin!

  7. Good day to all of you! I see the weather at the cabin is lovely! They have the upstairs french doors opened up and working in the sunshine! It is about 21 degrees and snowing here! That sun shining on them makes me want to go plant something! I hope you all are safe and warm where you are and enjoying the construction on the house, it is so fun to watch them! ^_^

amberPA on April 2, 2013 at 10:47 am
    • Hi Amber! I agree so much, it is great to be able to watch let alone be able to be a part of it by being able to vote on what they will put in the home. It is so nice. I am sure the "Yard Crashers" will be planting some beautiful flowers and do some spectacular things. Best of luck to you. Much Love!! <3<3

Rebecca on April 3, 2013 at 9:52 am
    • Hi Rebecca! I can barely wait until we see what is on the plans next! Voting and dreaming, what is better than that! The yard will be great and am sure it will be ready for picnics, parties, and reunions! Summer FUN FUN FUN! B)

amberPA on April 3, 2013 at 7:09 pm
    • Ooopps! I meant what is on the plan next! Sorry! ^_^

amberPA on April 3, 2013 at 7:15 pm
    • OMGoodness! You are STILL getting snow?! Bless your heart – and heating bill!!! Sounds like your Spring is going to be short-lived, if it ever shows up at all! :o But I don't know why I'm so surprised, I have lived in ND and AK and winters last 6-9 months…my first winter in ND we actually saw snow in July…summer snow! I couldn't believe it, but good thing is that it melted when it hit the ground…but still!!! :o :D

      Shelly313 on April 3, 2013 at 10:20 am
    • Hi Shelly! Yes, we even got more snow today! The sun did shine today and what was left on the ground is just about all gone now. Spring will come soon and I have so many plans! All I can do right now is dream of it. (He-hee!) I am sure that snowfall in July was a bit hard to handle! I love the sunshine! It is always a lesson on patience for me! I did do a lot of painting inside this past weekend between church, family, and the holiday! It was all good! Hope you had a great holiday! Can't wait to see what we'll be voting on next. Always good for dreaming! ^_^

amberPA on April 3, 2013 at 7:05 pm
    • Hi amberPA, Rebecca, Shelly and Bloggers All! Poor amber, I hope you are keeping warm and snug and holding the warm sunshine photo in your hand, for spring will come, and you will enjoy it all the more for having had to endure this long winter hibernation. Yes, watching the BC come together provides dreams for me, as for you, and it feels good, knowing it is honestly going to help someone when all is said and done. I often fall asleep thinking I am there… but I know one lucky person really will fall asleep there… and not in the too distant future. Good luck everyone!

BrookwoodCarolina on April 3, 2013 at 9:46 pm
    • BrookwoodCarolina, You are so fun, it is great to dream and fall asleep with wonderful thoughts! He-hee!
We had 14 degrees this morning and by afternoon, we had actually gotten up to about 48 degrees! We might just be done with winter after all. He-hee! Well, I see there is a new thread and I already voted on the lovely gifts, so I'm off to the new thread to see what is going on there. Good and happy wishes for you tomorrow. Dream-dream-dream! ^_^

  8. I WANT!!! But don't we all?!! :D More and more every time I look at the pics and see the progression, I can't imagine a better place to call HOME!!! My vivid imagination is filled with getting to know my mom's side of the family and the area she came from, and family reunions, and my grandkids playing in the yard (Easter egg hunt would have been so much fun here!), and that beautiful balcony where I could point out stars and planets to my grandkids through telescopes, and the porch swing where I can reflect and draw inspiration for my writing from that gorgeous view…my goodness, it's PERFECT!!! Someone is going to be ever so very Blessed this fall…I would <3 for it to be me and my family, but I will also be super happy for anyone else lucky enough to win this gorgeous, tranquil piece of paradise! ^_^:DB):)<3 Hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter, and are enjoying this gorgeous day today!!! B)

    • I know what you mean Shelly! I am so in love with this house and the beautiful property. I can just sit and drink some ice tea and look at the water or around the property for hours because it is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. It is just amazing. Good Luck. Much Love!! <3<3<3

Rebecca on April 2, 2013 at 8:31 pm
    • You know Rebecca, I didn't get the impression you liked the house at all…JUST KIDDING!!! :D I know how much you love it too and your enthusiasm is very contagious!!! A glass of iced tea, a warm cozy blanket, and sit on the porch swing and watch the sunrises and sunsets over the water…I can't think of anything better! From the bottom of my <3 I wish you the best of luck too!!! ^_^:)<3:D

      Shelly313 on April 3, 2013 at 9:43 am
    • I am in agreement. I too dream about packing up my life in Indiana and making my new home in NC. A sweet cottage by the sea. I would almost feel like I were in Ireland. (I would love to live in Ireland).

      chris50555 on April 3, 2013 at 1:15 am
    • Hi Chris! Anyone would be so lucky as to have this beautiful place to call home. Best of Luck to you! Much Love!! <3<3<3

    • The Emerald Isle has been on my list of places to visit too!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! My son and I talked about going this summer but looks like we may have to wait a little bit longer due to his military commitments. :( Years ago I was online looking at houses near the next base I was being stationed at and out of the blue a picture of a castle on a hilltop for sale in Ireland popped up…I still have that image in my mind! It had green grassy fields surrounding part of it, and the view in front was the ocean, complete with fishing boat ramps and docks…Heaven on Earth! ^_^ Like you, I am also ready to pack up and leave Indy. I have been hearing the call of the ocean for a few years, and this BC is perfectly situated near family I barely know. It would be nice to resettle on the coastline and kind of know people upon arrival! That was what it was like when I moved here, I only knew my Aunt and she helped get me situated quickly. :)

      Shelly313 on April 3, 2013 at 10:10 am
    • Hi Shelly and Everyone! How sweet it is to dream! I want it. Yes. But will I get it? Probably not. But I keep hoping and praying–but I always stop short of the final request–for that is the way I was taught–that God's will be done. And that will be best for me, and for us all. At least when the winner is selected, he/she will be basking in the love of all the bloggers who didn't win, but who send only best love and wishes to the lucky owner. You mentioned Emerald Isle. Please, let me share a simple story. Short, honest. When my two oldest daughters were teenagers and too big to go camp with mom for 10 days, I and my 5-year old daughter took our 2-room canvas tent and camped out at the park at Emerald Isle with our little dog, Snoopy (yes, a little white dog). On the second day, Snoopy got off her leash and ran off. I went to the phones and called 911. Yes, they had police officers on bicycles, and lost dogs merited a 911 call. I was frantic, left the information. On the day before we left, we saw a sign posted on a post down the beach with a hand drawn picture of a dog's face–it was our Snoopy! We called the number and the family, down from New Jersey for the week, had found her and taken very good care of her. When I remember Emerald Isle, I remember all the nice people there which makes the beauty of the location so much more gorgeous. I felt safe. We felt cared for. My two older daughters actually said they were sorry they didn't go!

  9. I didn't think anything could beat last years Blog Cabin, the Maine Retreat, but wow this is a GREAT spot for any family get together, especially mine!

BShejen on April 2, 2013 at 2:48 pm
    • BShejen you are so right. This is such a nice place to have a family gathering especially in the summer! Best of Luck! Much Love!! <3<3

  10. The dock/pier decking is coming along nicely. Lots and lots of long screws to drive. For those who haven't noticed, you will see some real strong X-bracing on the far cross pier portion, as well as the last 9 shorter pilings. You can see the huge bolt heads that are holding the X-bracing.

Builder on April 2, 2013 at 7:10 pm
    • Thank you again Builder. My husband was wondering if they were using screws…I personally think Mother Nature will leave the dock/pier alone for a long time ;-)

      karenlin91 on April 2, 2013 at 7:41 pm
    • Wow,Builder! You always point out the strength and professionalism that we often overlook, being more superficial onlookers without your knowledge. Thank you for sharing with us. I do have a question: when will we have lights on the dock so we can swing the camera around and see it at night too? You know, just want it ALL ;=).

BrookwoodCarolina on April 2, 2013 at 8:37 pm
    • Good Morning Builder, I was just wondering…How "wide" do you think the end of the dock is?? It must be at least 6 to 8 ft wide…It's hard to tell by looking at it from our Cam View..I do hope they add a roof so it can be used on rainy Days too..I haven't read any comments that gave the measurements of the dock!!!
Great place to spend the day and enjoy the Beauty All around!!! Nice area for tanning too!B) The old shed that "was" there, had a crab cage, tackle Box, 3 wheel bike among other things. I wish Diy would have saved those things for the New Owner to go through so they could keep what they wanted, just for keepsakes from the Robinson's Family….but I'm sure Diy dumped all those things….Sigh!!!! So sad!:(
      Have a good day!:p

      Jennie/Florida on April 4, 2013 at 11:42 am
    • I believe the end portion of the pier/dock is like 12' long by 8' wide. If you look close, you will see there is one short piling between the two longer ones on each end. To compare, just look at the pilings on the near end of the dock, to visualize the width of the far end.

Builder on April 4, 2013 at 7:16 pm
    • Hi Builder, that's what I did to come up with the measurement I had…I counted them on the pier and estimated about how long they were! I was going to say 12 ft long for the length but wasn't sure of that estimate.
Does that seem to be a little small for some type of Gazebo there? I'm Sure what ever Jason and his Landscaping team does, will be great!!!:) What is a "Normal size" for a Gazebo or seating area for fishing or entertaining on a dock/pier? Just curious!!! Can't wait to see the finished area!!!:p
Thank you Builder for the help to visualize the Dock/Pier size???.:)B) Have a Good Evening!
