    • YES, screened porch, swing, a windchime and bird feeder, and watching the gulls and ducks on the water front… you know, we might need an outdoor chimnea nearby the swing for chilly mornings and evenings… or of course, a nice hot tub…

  5. I need to ask if anyone comments at smart home 2013? I've been trying to comment there for weeks but I think I'm doing something wrong, PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN! :)

    WE-Z on March 30, 2013 at 10:10 am
    • Hi WE-Z, Don't know for sure, but I think you have to log on intense debate to be able to comment!!
I'm sure others can answer that question better than I can!!! Happy Easter Weekend!!!:p

      Jennie/Florida on March 30, 2013 at 10:29 am
    • Hi WE-Z! Wish I could help you, but I spent several hours trying to sign up for that Blog. No luck whatsoever. It just wouldn't accept my information, kept asking for more, yet when I added it, then it gave me error messages. I wish we could see more of the Smart Home, but I guess they will show it when they are ready…it is gorgeous though, and the area is in a gated community, so it should be safe enough. I was glad to see it coming to Florida, and not meaning to be unkind, but Jacksonville is not a place I visit much at night ;=). If you figure out why the blog won't take your comments, please post, I'd love to be able to join in too!!!

    • I think if you register on IntenseDebate it automatically activates into HGTV blog information. But, Im not sure.

  6. Lots of grass seed down now.

    540sam on March 30, 2013 at 10:32 am
    • HI 540sam! I was curious about that–I mean, if we are going to have a garden area, and both Yard Crashers and Desperate Landscapes there, why sow so much grass everywhere to be removed? Just wondering…

BrookwoodCarolina on March 30, 2013 at 10:43 am
    • Hi Brook, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the little green spreader in front…They haven't
even got started inside with All the Designers who will be showing up and all will tracking in and out and Y/C & D/L will be doing there yard Specials…So I was thinking, what ground they didn't use
for their Special, then the rest of the yard could be sowed…Don't understand there reason unless that grass is going to growww reallllll fast to keep down the dust and tracking in and out during all those rainy days..LOL
They threw hay down but covered it all up with the dirt…I hope the dirt they used will drain well, other -wise there will still be water puddles all around after rains…I'm sure this isn't A/Rs first Rebuild and lawn project…The lawn is so big maybe they know where Jason and Matt will be working in the yard and they are just trying to fill in the gaps! We shall see!!!o.0o.0:p
Brook did you read my comment to you on page 8 under my post 12 replys? I didn't get any reply, I thought if I told you those were "Pecan Trees" where the Daffodils and Swings are, I would have
heard from you…It's hard to keep up with comments when more than one thread is being active, So anyway…I hope you are feeling better, the last you commented to me you were having health issues!!!
I hope you are OK….I do see you are on the threads, so hope all is well :p<3B) Happy Easter:p

      Jennie/Florida on March 30, 2013 at 11:40 am
    • Surely they're not putting grass seed out yet. Too much driving over, and yard crashing to be done yet, I would think. When they raised the cabin, and filled to make it higher, they did a lot of digging which may be why we saw so much clay. I was thinking this was just fill dirt, topsoil to bring it back to usable dirt?

      karenlin91 on March 30, 2013 at 11:22 am
    • Hard to tell what's in the spreader if no one saw the bags. Could be fertilizer or lime or it could be some quick germinating seed to hold things together until they get to the real landscapeing. In any event, they seem to be saying "no more trucks in the yard" by the work they've done this week.

Ishmael on March 30, 2013 at 12:12 pm
    • Ishmael, I like all those items you named…Anything that will give the yard some Nutrition!! So glad they put a stop to driving in the yard…A lot of wide open spaces since they added all that dirt and cleared. The yard looks bigger to me and there is so much room to add little Flower gardens and Sitting Areas all over the yard!!! :p<3B) IDEA!!! Too bad they don't add all those People's Choice— the Classic White Pergola, the Green Wood Trellis and The Rustic Arbor in the yard…All would fit in different areas of the yard to enjoy!!!

      Jennie/Florida on March 30, 2013 at 12:31 pm
    • Its grass seed. If you pan the camera down and zoom in real tight you can see it laying on the top soil.

      540sam on March 30, 2013 at 12:38 pm
  7. Love the open living area! DIY talents are going to make this the best Blot Cabin yet! Can hardly wait to see! Hope I get lucky this time!

    stlmom1 on March 30, 2013 at 10:49 am
  8. Great picture, drooling over it already… wanting to see more of the inside of our little cottage. I love the foyer, since the BC is open concept now. It allows a bit of privacy for the family when UPS or the mail lady (we have a mail lady now–don't know how many of you all still have a mail man ;=) comes to the door. Thanks so much, DIY, for listening to our bloggers and making the interior changes to open everything up. The center kitchen is truly going to be the heart of the home here, and I hope that wonderful old rocking chair finds its way into the design somewhere. Everything looks tight, warm, and dry, and cozy for any kind of weather! I loved seeing the lights on the front of the house last night. It made me imagine the possibilities of lighting the outdoor spaces. Can't wait to see it all unfold!

BrookwoodCarolina on March 30, 2013 at 10:54 am
    • Hi Brokwood! I can't wait to see it when it is completed also. It is so exciting!! Have a great holiday weekend. Much Love!! <3<3

  10. Hi Bloggers, I just checked the Weather for the Cottage…Cloudy off and on Today, but 30% chance of Rain for Tomorrow and Monday…This will be a test to see if the rain soaks in the New dirt or if it will just puddle! o.0:p
