  1. YAY! New vote! Now if only the voting page would show me the master bathroom options, I'd be on it!

  2. Got it! Follow the link on the blog post, I get master suite voting… but when I hit the "vote again" button, it takes me back to kitchen vote…. I will make it work anyway :)

Mimitheminer on January 31, 2013 at 10:39 am
    • I'm having a problem voting too, but I can't get off of the Kitchen's People's Choice and they tell me I have voted my 10 times and come back tomorrow..I haven't voted once…What's up with that??? I do like all the things the Bloggers have chosen and is winning so far!!! Maybe tomorrow I will get to vote!

    • Ditto..me too Jennie.

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 11:12 am
    • When you are done voting do not use the vote again button, click on the tab that says"Master bedroom". It returns you to the start and keeps track of your votes. Or you can go back to the thread link or use the link UNDER the picture on the Maine page. Don't know why the IT department can't fix this.

Grammagail on February 1, 2013 at 8:51 am
    • Meant to say "Master Suite" tab! Sorry.

Grammagail on February 1, 2013 at 9:10 am
    • Thanks, but it's working today. Yesterday the tabs weren't working either, the only way it worked for me was to go back to the blog and use that vote link… seems like they have it all straightened out now tho.

  3. Mary, thank you so much!! We have been Pacing the floor waiting for this "People's Choice" !! The Master Bathroom is always exciting and has important things to vote on…Please lets keep a "Beachside" Decor !!!

    Jennie/Florida on January 31, 2013 at 10:50 am
    • PS, Love the Claw Tub, the Swing, the White ceiling, Warm flooring, Lighting.. Well, all of them that's winning so far…I just can't believe the voting shot up so high, so fast !!! Mmmmmmm, Gremlins around???

      Jennie/Florida on January 31, 2013 at 11:39 am
    • Jennie, No Gremlins around, just some very easy choices in this selection. I was having a few problems with my computer this mornig, even posting a note. I just went into bleepingcomputer.com, downloaded one of the 3 virus stoppers, and I am off to the races. Only takes like 12-14 seconds each time. I usually do this like every other day, to keep my computer running smooth, and it is free. :) Aaaaah Yes, Tomorrow I can vote again. Guess I am too anxious to vote every morning, and did it before the new selection was available. Have fun, everyone.

    • Agree…this is a beach cabin. Let's not get to contempory.

GregorB on February 1, 2013 at 1:34 pm
    • I wanted to say the drop in tub is perfect for people with arthritis like myself then trying to crawl into a stand-up tub…Where do I go Jennie so everyone will see this?

      Pam/TN. on February 2, 2013 at 10:06 am
    • IOs there a Full size shower in the master Suite? I would recommend afloor installation of some type with shower sprays comeing from behind for a back massage; as well as, of course, a seat with a shower head extending to the seat. I have arthritis and mobility impaired this is why I ask these things

Pam / TN. on February 2, 2013 at 10:10 am
    • Hi Pam, instead of replying to someones post go to the bottom of this page and type in the Post New Comment Box…I think most bloggers read all the comments…I hope that helps!!!

  4. Some very nice things to vote on. Over 140 votes in already.

    vicki_in_Utah on January 31, 2013 at 10:52 am
  5. good morning
    New vote!:)
I love the choice that have been made so far. They seem to fit in with what we have asked for in previous homes:) The only thing I find puzzeling is the dual faucets?? instead of the single??
I live in an older home that has this type of fixture and as much as I love the charm of them-I find the difficult at times when I go to use them and I do not have the option of turning both on? I would rather have one lever to turn the water on and off with. Also it would be better for people with any challenges-plus a more simple design to keep clean.
Of course the choice of the swing-I am excited about !yah! but I want the chairs too:)! I really want the swing though:):) glad to see it is winning so far.:) How exciting:)

ruffybc on January 31, 2013 at 10:55 am
    • It's not dual faucets…. it's dual knobs. Single spout (at least going by the picture). I never seem to be able to get the temp I want with a single handle…. it's either too hot or too cold, I feel like I have more exact temp control with separate handles.

Mimitheminer on January 31, 2013 at 11:14 am
    • If it was 2 separate faucets, I wouldn't like that at all.

Mimitheminer on January 31, 2013 at 11:16 am
    • Sorry, I mis- phrased my comment. Of course it is dual knobs for the other choice. I would prefer a single faucet and single handle control.
Thank you for pointing out my error.

ruffybc on February 4, 2013 at 7:28 pm
    • I agree with you on the single faucet design, I recently broke my arm and tore the rotator cuff and even with that relatively minor disability, I had a horrible time managing my 2-faucet bathroom sink. I like the chairs better than the swing, because you can move them around wherever you want them, but like you, I would probably buy whichever one is not voted in if I were to win. So far, I am pretty excited and happy with most of the winning selections. I LOVE the heated bathroom floor selection – warm toes, yeah!

Windsmurf on January 31, 2013 at 11:22 am
    • Ouch! Windsmurf! That must ache badly! I'm so sorry! It sure appears that you're getting your warm bathroom floor–rejoice!;)xD<3 kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on February 6, 2013 at 1:16 am
    • I agree about the faucet, it looked good in the show room but it is a pain to keep clean, A simple single lever with a pull out would be better. I changed that old water pump looking faucet out for one with a pull out sprayer bathroom faucet and love the flexability of it. Also for anyone that is even thinking of getting a claw foot tub. Think about cleaning around it. Unless the thing is out in the middle of the room you will find it very difficult to control mold if you have kids that get more water out of the tub than in the tub.

Protectanserve on February 1, 2013 at 7:45 am
    • I like the single faucet. To me it looks like a pump handle. Always wanted a swing that looks out on the water. Still a child I guess.

GregorB on February 1, 2013 at 1:36 pm
    • Unfortunately, THAT swing will be hung on the rear MBR porch and is not overlooking the water. You will either need to move it up front or get another porch swing, should you win… the photo illustration throws it off a bit, huh? ;) ^_^ Kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on February 5, 2013 at 6:57 pm
    • Get another one or a glider so I wont have to hang it.

zulumom on February 6, 2013 at 6:23 am
    • I like the single knob, but not the faucet – it would be harder to clean that faucet with the single knob.

Larree on February 1, 2013 at 7:05 pm
    • AGREE!!! Single levers are easier to use–also a pull-out for bathroom is awesome (I have one) but the illustrated one, if I won, it would go bye-bye, as it is unappealing to the eye IMHO.:D:)<3 Kitty

DwnSoDwnEaster on February 5, 2013 at 7:01 pm
    • I agree also. I like a single faucet just not this particular one. It does appear to be difficult to clean?

ruffybc on February 5, 2013 at 8:42 pm
  6. I was not able to vote on these selections yet, because I did my voting really early this morning on the kitchen selections. I will wait for tomorrow. However, looking at the choices available, it looks like it will be a shoo-in, already, for most of the ones that are leading, with just over 500 votes so far. The faucets might go either way, as well as the lighting. Just keep on voting for what you like. Enjoy the voting, and watch the guys build. Seems like they are out of sight so far this morning, so wondering what they are up to……….A Surprise Project, out behind the house ? Patience, Patience, Patience……………………..

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 11:10 am
    • I didn't see any vehicles there, maybe they aren't working yet today. I was able to vote, going directly from the link at the top of this thread. Already over 700 votes so far.

Windsmurf on January 31, 2013 at 11:25 am
    • There was an Andrew Roby red pickup there this earlier this morning, and the door to the Simmons trailer is open, so I know they are there, somewhere.

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 12:16 pm
    • Someone was there just like clockwork, a few minutes after 7….they also changed the sign…..maybe a hint to some of the stuff they've been doing out of our sight!

      karenlin91 on January 31, 2013 at 12:25 pm
  7. Hey folks- I forgot to say something in my earlier post. I sent an e-mail to Simmons Construction this morning, complimenting them on their fantastic job on the Blog Cabin, and to, " Keep Up The Great work". I hope everyone is in approval of the message I sent. :) :)

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 11:19 am
    • Hi Woodworker from MN, I just tried to submit a comment from my tablet, as I was not at home. I noticed that it did not post it. So now I am home on my laptop :-) . I think that sending Simmons Construction is a good thing. Encouragement goes a long way, all around. What I am hoping for is a one car garage with a workbench on the back wall, so as to have a place to create bird houses, woodworker's creations, (you would love that, I certainly would). To keep tools in an organized space. Maybe even leaving the old floor boards for the winner to use and create different functional items for cottage. I understand, that the gargage is not in the plans, or may not even be in the budget, but it's fun to dream! :-)

    • You betcha, WW from MN! It's always a good thing to receive a nice compliment & to 'give credit where credit is due'. You get my approval for that & I'm SURE your deed will NOT go unnoticed, OR be forgotten, for that matter. I, too, feel the same about most of the leading choices in the Master Bath Suite. It looks like it could turn out to be a cute beachside retreat with a 'way-back-when' feel. But I'm having a bit of angst over the (winning, so far) faucet choice (I think the 2-handle chrome style fits the look better) and the 2 lighting choices (the 'ship lantern' pendant seems too 'out-doorsy', my opinion, and the tinted globe pendant seems too modern & fancy). But hey, like they always say, 'to each his own'. And once everything comes together, it's gunna look pretty darn nice, being as the choices were already pre-selected by the designer on the project,,,so who am I kidding? Mary ALWAYS gets it right on every project I've seen. Thanks to her, we can just have fun voting and watching a miracle happen before our eyes!

  8. I did my voting based upon ease of cleaning. As I have posted before I detest claw foot tubs- they are horrid to clean under. The same reason I went for the undermount sink and single faucet.

Nebraska on January 31, 2013 at 11:35 am
    • I was ambivalent on the tub for the reason you mention, claw foot tubs are hard to clean under and behind but they do look neat. At any rate, it looks like the claw-foot is off and running already.

Windsmurf on January 31, 2013 at 11:53 am
    • If it is the claw foot tub shown in the picture, is has longer legs than most I have seen, so just a swiffer mop to clean under it. Looks very easy to me. We will have to wait to see what the majority decide. The race has just begun, and the finish line is a long, long way ahead. Have a spectacular day. :)

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 12:23 pm
    • Since I also detest Swiffers – I would be really out of luck.

Nebraska on January 31, 2013 at 6:21 pm
    • No Vicki, there is just one spout, so water is mixed as it comes from each faucet. I have the double faucet in my upstairs bathroom.

Woodworker from MN on January 31, 2013 at 12:33 pm
    • Claw foot? Are you kidding me?!! ((( No NO no nO ))) How about a sunken tub with a jacuzzi built in? I remember seeing a recessed area for a sunken tub? Anyone know?__

Kev on January 31, 2013 at 4:32 pm
    • I have a 'drop-in' garden tub with a deck around it, it is very hard for me to get in & out of !! I voted on the standing tub because it would be lots easier for a person who has 'leg-lifting' problems to use !!

gremol on January 31, 2013 at 6:04 pm
    • It would be harder to get in a claw foot with long legs.

Nebraska on January 31, 2013 at 6:15 pm
    • Not for me; I'm tall & have long legs, so the free standing would be better for me. You can get up close to it & step over a couple of inches; with the drop in, you have a side around it that makes the 'stepping-over' a lot farther. Just my own personal preference !!

gremol on January 31, 2013 at 6:23 pm
    • Hi gremol, I am NOT tall, but I think the tub will be more accessible than one with a deck surround.-(all due respect to others who disagree).I wonder if the clawfoot tub is also a backlash against the HUGE deck around last year's master bath sunken tub ? That tub made me so furious plus the probability that once again bathroom space will be limited, that I am voting for clawfoot also. <3

LLColeman on February 4, 2013 at 4:18 am
    • I meant the tub having legs……

Nebraska on February 4, 2013 at 12:43 pm
  9. For those having trouble voting, the links are messed up again. The ones I found that work are the link UNDER the picture on the main page (the picture itself takes me to a 404 error), the TAB for "Master bedroom" on the vote again page (vote again button does not work) and the link in the new thread posting.
Please someone in IT fix the voting glitches?

Grammagail on January 31, 2013 at 11:50 am
    • I'm having similar problems.

nmdeman on January 31, 2013 at 11:28 pm
  10. Speaking of links going weird…….i posted that the sign had changed, just a few minutes ago…….came back again and the whole second page of comments has disappeared!
