The Blog Cabin 2012 Winner Drawing

Yes, indeed, fans. We randomly selected the winner of the Blog Cabin 2012 Giveaway! For those curious about the drawing process, please watch the following video. Just a note: Lottery balls numbered one through five designate mail-in entries and lottery balls numbered six through 542 designate online entries. When the representative selects the ball, she reads its batch number to know whether to head to a specific bin, dump its contents on the floor and pull out one mail-in entry or head to the computer to type in the batch number and let the computer randomly select one online entry. It’s all pretty serious business! We will announce the name of the winner in late October. Keep checking back here for details!

  3. Alright, I'll start trying to figure out how to buy a place in Maine – the dream will not die! I guess i'll get back to trying to fix my cement slab on the back porch that sank 2 1/2 inches on one side during the earth quake last year. I posted a question about how to do the cement work but I don't know how to find out if anyone had any thoughts that might help. I can't seem to find where I posted the question.

  6. Congratulations to the 2012 Blog Cabin Winner! You'll love midcoast Maine if you can afford to keep the home. Wishing you a fruitful market otherwise! C'mon Miami! Here's hoping a guy from Maine wins!

PS – I wonder if that's the same Mary that posts all of our blogs on HGTV and DIY? If so, hello Mary and it's nice to finally put the face with our beloved Mary! The only other mystery Lucy's owner would love to solve is who is our infamous DBCoop?

Maine on October 13, 2012 at 11:26 am
    • D B Who? As Terri likes to say when asked, "that's a matter of intense debate."

  7. The Grand Prize Winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on approximately October 15, 2012 by Ritway, Inc., an independent judging organization, (“Sweepstakes Administrator”) and will be contacted either in person or by overnight courier and phone on or about October 19, 2012.

    • that they haven't contacted the winner duh.

ren on October 14, 2012 at 8:24 pm
    • Then why not say so rather than show you can cut & paste. You're wrong anyway. Winner has been drawn and contacted. Evidence is overwhelming if you read the blog. Congratulations to that lady. You just have to wait one more year for another try. Good luck then.

    • why be rude… over something so petty. you are not the winner either… good day.

  8. That could be last year's winner, you know they always like to keep us guessing!!

    LibbyGirl200 on October 13, 2012 at 2:14 pm
    • It's obviously this years winner being contacted. They never "keep us guessing" (about what?) on Blog Cabin.

Time to let it go and move on.:)

    • not a good attitude :p

      LibbyGirl200 on October 13, 2012 at 2:25 pm
    • I don't mean to sound negative but I think it was this year's winner because if you look at what Mary was wearing in the video and what she is wearing at the end of the video when they call someone, it is the same outfit. Also, in the video Mary says when they pick the winner they call them later on that day. Sorry, but I think we need to move on and keep dreaming.

  9. That could also be someone from their staff they called, who knows…

    LibbyGirl200 on October 13, 2012 at 2:17 pm
    • It wasn't.

Nebraska on October 14, 2012 at 2:39 pm
    • So sure, Nebraska? Hum… you have something you want to share?

  10. Looking at the video it does appear that the winner was drawn on 10/11, but I really don't think that was the actual phone call to the winner the same day as the drawing. Every HGTV, DIYNetwork and most other contests the winner is never notified the same day as the drawing. In the Blog Cabin rules it has the potential date of drawing with the winner being notified 4 days later and HGTV contests it's usually 7 days between the drawing and the actual notification. Not sure what they do in those days leading up to but they must have a reason for the delay before drawing and notification. I'm still not ready to give up HOPE.,, phone call may be early next week, Tues 10/16 would be 4 business days. Keeping the dream alive!

Michelle on October 13, 2012 at 4:34 pm
    • They have a winner and was notified- Mary doesn't play games.

Nebraska on October 14, 2012 at 2:41 pm
    • Only when she is giving us clues for future locations, Charlotte! ^_^

EdinOregon on October 15, 2012 at 12:49 am
    • Well yeah bt then we expect that!
