The Blog Cabin 2012 Winner Drawing
Yes, indeed, fans. We randomly selected the winner of the Blog Cabin 2012 Giveaway! For those curious about the drawing process, please watch the following video. Just a note: Lottery balls numbered one through five designate mail-in entries and lottery balls numbered six through 542 designate online entries. When the representative selects the ball, she reads its batch number to know whether to head to a specific bin, dump its contents on the floor and pull out one mail-in entry or head to the computer to type in the batch number and let the computer randomly select one online entry. It’s all pretty serious business!
We will announce the name of the winner in late October. Keep checking back here for details!
So was that them actually calling the winner? The rules states it wouldn't be until the 19th? But again it also says the drawing wasn't until around the 15th and that went early. Oh well..congrats to whomever it was!
How Winner will be Determined: The Grand Prize Winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on approximately October 15, 2012 by Ritway, Inc., an independent judging organization, (“Sweepstakes Administrator”) and will be contacted either in person or by overnight courier and phone on or about October 19, 2012.
Blog Cabin Wanter, I guess I'm not a stickler for details–probably why I'm not very organized, but today is around the 15th in my book. Personally, I'm happy that HGTV and DIY have home give-aways and I'm even happier for the persons who win. It's good to be blessed, whether it's before or after the selection date.
Maybe you'll join the select list of winners in the future. If so, please let me know if you are disappointed when you're called before the announced selection date.

Thanks so much Lessie for taking the time to correct my behavior. You're right, myself and the many others on this blog, should not dare ask if the obvious questions to see if winner has been contacted, but instead focus on how to be "blessed".
No harm meant, Blog Cabin Wanter. My intent was to say HGTV/DIY could contact me ANYTIME, before, on, or after the announced date if I'm the winner! I respect the opinions of everyone on the blog, that's what makes this a great place to blog. I still think anyone chosen for an HGTV/DIY home is blessed in a different way from those of us who are just blessed daily. Sure hope you aren't offended. Continue sharing your thoughts and I'll continue reading them.

Because they state right at the top of this page in the very first line of the new blog thread: –

It doesn't matter, JamesDean, unless you're the winner! We'll know for certain on Monday night since that's the selected date. But I'm sure the winner is probably rejoicing as they celebrate while watching the baseball play-offs, football games, or doing what they do on a daily basis.
The message says there were 5 mail-in bins. There are only 5 bins in the video. Seems you may not want to admit that someone else may have won. Good thing there is always next year to try again for another fabulous blog cabin home.

On top of the bins you see mail that says BC 2012 on them. Beside that; Mary has on the same top as show in the pictures of her talking, as when she sitting there watching them make the phone call.
So I would think that was the person that won the BC 2012, on the phone call, don't you?
Now to find out who she is, where she from, and is she one of the many bloggers we have here?

I agree, I'm a little confused. Was that video just an explanation of what happens? Or we're they really calling the winner? The dates in the official rules stated the 15th and 19th. Mary can you clear this up for some of us confused bloggers? Thanks
I think it is this years… if you see Mary has the same dress when they are calling the winner as when she is explaining.. Would love to win the house, but I'm sure (if the winner was already called) happy if someone else wins it too.
