  7. i have hgtv, but not diy, it's not on my list of channels, only get it when they do the freebie watch, so i'm totally missing watching all this with u guys!! :-( let me know how it turns out!! take care, oh, my dog copper had to be operated on wednesday, his ears had a growth in them, said it went pretty deep on the right, but he got most of it, packed his ears with medicine he'll clean out monday, he is doing better, oh, and i had him take his testicle!! he is 6 yrs. old, needs to calm down!!!!

    • Poor Copper. Did they do a biopsy on the growth? does he have to wear one of those bonnets? Hope Copper is feeling better soon. Its not easy keeping pups quiet after going through something like that. Good Luck with that and also with the BC. :)

    • i don't know if they did a biopsy or not, he said he had seen this in one ear before, but never both!!! since we've had him he had been run over twice (we lived on a dirt road then!), and bit by a rattler, and played with a porcupine!!! YES, he had them on his nose and head, they were a pain to pull out!! but at least he didn't do any of that again, did learn something!!!lol yes, he HATES the bonnet!!!!! has tried many times to knock it off!!!LOL but it's still on. he lays down in the side of the house connected to the garage, it has a screen door letting air in, so he likes it!!! thanks for asking!!! good luck with the BC also, thank you!!

    • Copper is one tough doggie ! My family used to have a dog who liked to chase deer, until one kicked him in the stomach…he got off lucky. Vet said it could have been a bad, even fatal injury.

LLColeman on September 9, 2012 at 4:13 am
    • what's funny is he was the runt of his litter!!! he has a fenced in backyard now, so he is pretty content!! the second time he was run over, it didn't break any bones, just popped it backwards!!! yeah, the vet knocked him out and popped it back, it was just fine after that, crazy, huh? but that did kinda break him, lol!! dogs r such fun!!:D

    • Good luck with Copper…our 11 yr. old dog had to go to the vet Tues. and they found he has fluid in his lungs and enlarged heart…scary. He has been taking diuretic pills the past 48 hrs. and is doing much better. Taz has lots of energy, too and it is coming back, now that he is on meds.
.I hope Copper will feel better soon too.

LLColeman on September 8, 2012 at 5:09 am
    • thanks so much, he is starting to do better, didn't want to eat his dry food, so gave him some leftover hamburger i had in fridge, he INHALED!!!! lol he really loved it, after that he started eating his dog food, so maybe he will be ok!! hope Taz gets better soon, can't be without our babies!!

  8. Does anyone now how long it takes to heat the hot tub with the wood fire? Also how big is this hot tub? Does anyone have any experience with wood-fired hot tubs?

Anniesown on September 7, 2012 at 8:42 pm
    • I don't think I would like a wood fired hot tub, how would you control the heat?

      vicki_in_Utah on September 8, 2012 at 10:37 am
    • How about turning the hot tub into a planter for a specimen tree? Do pink dogwoods thrive in Maine? That master bathroom tub is a great hot tub!

here's a link on the hot tub, answers a lot of questions, like will they freeze, how to control the heat etc.

      home_girl on September 8, 2012 at 12:32 pm
    • Thanks. Looks like it's a bit experimental regarding heating times etc and, of course, very dependent on weather and outside temperature conditions. The same as for any hot tub or outdoor pool. However, it's quicker than gas or electricity unless there's a 400,000 BTU heat source which will cost a fortune to use.

We winterize our hot tub in mid October so long as the weather is mild and drain water from the pipes to avoid any freeze problems. It ususlly comes back 'online' Memorial Day weekend. I'll guess the same season of use would apply in Waldoboro too.
