Crashing the Blog Cabin Master Suite
Our Bath Crashers episode premieres Monday night, but today we have a special treat: an exclusive vlog starring Bath Crashers host Matt Muenster and Blog Cabin 2012 show host Chris Grundy. See what they have to say about the experience of remodeling both the master bedroom and master bathroom.
And if you haven’t yet, please take some time to click through our before-and-after slideshow, artistic photos and candid, behind-the-scenes snaps from the episode shoots. Enjoy!

Repurposing at it's finest! The energy/efforts of the team were awesome and knocked it out!
This B.C. turned out a lot better than I originally thought it would !! My only complaint is that I still think there should have been a second bathroom on the second floor !! The Guest Bedroom should have had a bathroom of it's own; & at least a half-bath on the Media/Game Room end !! I wonder if an old Southern gal could acclimate to Maine ???
Of course you could do it, Gremol! Mainers are friendly like in the South. You just have to wear more clothes in the winter!:p<3 Kitty
Of course youcould Gremol! people do it all the time! It just takes more clothes adn indoor hobbies.
I know I could & would enjoy the weather; I 'do' cold very well; can't stand this Florida heat/humidity !! I have plenty of indoor hobbies to keep me busy (sewing, crocheting, arts & crafts, sudoku, etc.) ; not a real outdoor person since having back problems. If I won, I may have to leave Hubby behind !!! He does not like cold very well !! But, I could see converting the barn into a workshop for him; he has accumulated quite a lot of tools over the past 50 years & would need some place for them & him to do his tinkering in !!
Hellooo Gremol!!!
You and I must be Twinkies, 'cause I don't do warm weather well either. My Hubby's like yours–he doesn't like cold weather, which is why, when he, a South Dakotan, got out of the Navy, he asked them to drop him off in Norfolk VA and he has made this Region home ever since. I introduced Gary to Maine and he fell in love with that State too, but of course, now he owns his business based in Virginia Beach. As for me, I'd live in Maine like all snowbirds do and even stay some during winters. If I won, Gary would telecommute, as he already does for his clients are all over the place–or he would fly to see them; I'd settle in, Spring through Autumn at BC,, go to VA a couple of months then back to where my heart belongs and Gary would fly in regularly, 'cause HE can't stay away from Maine either!!! Ha ha ha! B);)<3<3
Well, been posting & they show up when I hit submit comment……….then ……..poof !!! I don't see them !!!
Gremol, Did you say the dreadful word, sho_es?
:* With that one, Admin will get ya every time! I know. <3 Kitty
I have entered everyday to win this beautiful Maine home……YAY!! I hope I win. But, I am wondering if anyone else besides me is having a problem trying to enter the Urban Oasis giveaway? My computer will not allow me to access the Entry Page, therefore I cannot enter to win the Oasis! Today is the day the problem began. Thursday and Friday I was able to enter, but not today……..and I have been trying all day long. Very frustrating!!!! Please, if anyone else is having a problem, let me know.
Question: Remember sometime ago Mister Grundy was looking over a mirror laying in a pool of water inside a black black tarp? Did DIY ever tell what ever happened to that mystery mirror? Just wonderingo.0
I believe it's in the guest bedroom, it's half obscured by the open door in the 360 view . Photo #8 the guest bedroom shows it better.
I love about 95% of the house. The lack of a powder room, no access to the basement and the upper bathroom are concerns. I see no storage for brooms, shovels or cleaning supplies. I know it's hard to decorate for the masses but I NEED A TV DOWN STAIRS and maybe even OUTSIDE. Nothing better than a crowd enjoying football, basketball…(anything) at a cookout. Problems can be solved though. Toilet in the laundry room for example. tks
Hi Stu! I agree about the storage. those things could have been hung by the stairs to the cellar! FYI: There is a smaller TV in the kitchen on the coffee bar and they did wire the bookcase in the living room, should you wish to install one there. Good luck!xD Kitty
You don't need any wires for TV. Just go wireless and eliminate the cable hassles. A good router will probably get a signal to the barn too.
The master bedroom has such a cottage feel. I can picture listening to the outside and being ever so cozy even though it is so minimal in the decorating. I love all the choices that have been made to create this lovely room. Thanks,
I love the house and especially the deck outside and stone fireplace just lovely
Love the Blog Cabin. You all do great work. I only wish you had put a powder room for the first floor when guests are there. Oops!!!!
with all the grandkids I have, I can just see the little ones trying to run up the stairs to get to the bathroom in time. because the one down stairs was busy. LOL…I have enough trouble with 2 bathrooms on the same floor. We always seem to have someone having a oops!
Thanks Mary this was great. Can't wait to watch the show on Monday. My only coment, and i am sure I will get some TD..is I sure wish they would let a mantel be a mantel! JMO and not use them for other random things.
That would mean having a real fireplace. Hmmmm!
That's what I'm talking about, AnniesOwn…LOL…
Hi Mary, I am an avid fan of HGTV/DIY for so many years. Salute to you and to all my favorite designers for their beautiful, most creative and very artistic ideas!
