Kitchen Crashers is Coming Up

Happy Friday!

I hope you are enjoying the virtual home tour of Blog Cabin 2012 and entering twice online daily for your chance to win our fabulous midcoast Maine getaway. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.

Don’t forget to tune in on Monday, August 20, for the second episode in our Blog Cabin 2012 series. The Kitchen Crashers crew descends on Blog Cabin to overhaul and transform the home’s most important space.

Today, I invite you to watch a little teaser video we shot while Alison Victoria was filming on location with this year’s show host Chris Grundy. Take a peek and then check out the how-to projects (build a coffee bar, build a reclaimed wood dining table and craft a butcher block cutting board) from Monday night’s episode. Cheers!

  1. AS I STATED i REALLY LIKE THE PLACE MAYBE THIS TIME THEY LEFT SOMETHING FOR THE OWNER TO DO. tHERE IS THE BARN BIG ENOUGH TO PLACE A BACK GARAGE DOOR. SECTION WHERE IF YOU NEED TO REPAIR YOUR CAR YOU CAN FIX IT WITHOUT IT BEING CLOSE TO THE HOUSE , i REALLY LIKE THE BARN THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO TO IT. YOU HAVE TO HAVE VISION WITH SO MUCH PROPERTY. lIKE THE ROAD STONES WALK WAY TO THE RIVER AND MEANDERING BENCHES TO SIT IN DOWN THE MIDDLE WITH LAMP POST FOR THE NIGHT. . PLEASANT GARDENS IN THE BACK GROUND FOR FOOD FOR NOT JUST ONLY YOU BUT NIEGHBORS TO COLTIVATE , WHICH WILL BRING IN REVENUE TO PAY YEARLY TAXES. BUILDING A WARF FOR FISHING AT THE END. IF THERE IS NOT ONE THERE. PROMOTES HAPPY PEOPLE AROUND YOU. A SAFE ENVIROMENT BECAUSE YOU KNOW EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPEN THERE. i APPRIECIATE ALL THEY DIDN'T DO AND ALL THEY DID. i HAVE NO WHAT TO COMPLIAN ABOUT IT'S ALL FREE. I HOPE THAT THE LORD CAN ALLOW ME TO GET THIS . i 'D GET A GRANT TO HELP OUT THE ECONOMY THERE. I CHECK IT OUT.

    • It is not appropriate to ask for money from bloggers. I suggest that you watch the renovation videos and figure out how you can do these cabinets yourself. This is DIY information we are gifted on the website, not how to ask others to do it for you.

Try this. I have gotten nice things and I have donated things via this site.

    • I also thought of freecycle…and whatever community or church organizations there are in your new town–they may know about building materials, etc. Habitat For Humanity chapters also have outlets or know of resources. Good luck to you,( and sorry that the exception to the generally friendly bloggers on here was first to reply to you). <3

    • I second the Freecycle suggestion. Also, if you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore in your area, that might help. I personally have picked up things from the side of the road, so if you have a truck….. : )

  3. Cool, Donna! We begged for at least one wood burning stove inside the BC. We did get the outside FP, which is very nice, but not quite the same. I've always been a quick adapter and will work with whatever resource or material I have so while I might have preferred that some things be different with this year's BC, I'll let those differences wash over me like water off a duck!!! :) One can change, one can adapt–one should be thankful in ALL circumstances and , like you and your Mother did: do unto others as you would want others to do unto you–PRACTICE THE GOLDEN RULE– God Bless You and thank You for Your Service to our Great Country!!!xD<3 Kitty

  6. Love it! I like everything about the house. Entrance, no steps. Master bedroom on the first floor. Dining room table. The red barn. Love Maine, but live in New Jersey due to jobs. Planning on retiring in Maine, such a beatiful State. Of course I'm dreaming about it, me the winner. Good luck to everyone!
