  1. Happy 4th of July to everyone. So hot here in Wisconsin but glad not in WV where my parents live. Still no power, water or phone. We need rain in WI along with many other states. Interesting that the wind storms last week in WV had no rain. Well, enjoy the holiday!

    • It is so nice to hear from you again, Hazelnut Deb ! I hope the heat abates soon–I have relatives in indiana, Chicago and a friend in Tulsa, OK they are all melting! Are not Clive and DonG in Wisconsin, too ?
All the best for your family in WVA…so awful to have no power or water, especially. <3

  2. No storm for you last night is good news Kitty, it's overwhelming as to how many people are without power and how in the world are all these people going to get their lives back together with all the damage…I guess just take one day at a time. It's so bad!
You know I have been terrified of snakes as long as I can remember because my Mom was too and she taught me well…Like Mother , like Daughter. When I was about 8 yrs old. our family went blueberry picking. I was just picking away, mostly popping more in my mouth than putting them in the bucket…My brother came behind me and told me not to move, he put his arms around my waist and dragged me back slowly and when I looked down under the bush was a big rattle snake all coiled up ready to strike me, My brother saved my life and he killed the snake…so needless to say, I'm afraid of snakes, it doesn't matter what kind they are or what size they are..a snake is a snake. It's instilled in me! So when I'm in the yard, I am looking everywhere I walk . I almost stepped on one the other day because it came out from under the bush in a hurry. A Heart Attack moment!

    • Yikes! I can't stand the critters either! Your Brother is an angel! Well, at least, if you win the BC in
Waldoboro, you may rest assured that Maine has no poisonous snakes. Quite different from Florida and Virginia, where poisonous ones are legion–ugh!=/:| Kitty

  8. Figures an older woman won!! That seems to be the norm for these HGTV "giveaways". I think these contest are either rigged or the real "first" winners are disqualified, because as it says in the "rules",, they reserve the right to disqualify a person based on a background check (i.e. credit check, etc) and I think this is unfair!!!!!!!!!
