Cabin Comforts Comes to a Close
Thank you all for participating in our housewarming gifts vote and entering for a chance to win a gift collection identical to the one we plan to shower upon the winner of this year’s amazing vacation getaway.
This phase of our Blog Cabin 2012 project is over, but stay tuned for the virtual home tour and the airing of the 2012 episodes and special. Keep checking our What’s New page for details.
I share a special treat on this day: A photo of Chris Grundy on his last day at Blog Cabin 2012. I bet you can’t guess where that mirror ended up.

Powder Room.
In the 'Pooch Palace'?
ha ha, Annie'sOwn—if the "winning dog" is anything like mine, he /she would bark at the reflection in the mirror. Taz always starts a dispute with his reflection in the full-length mirror…he cannot believe the Boston Terrier looking back at him has the temerity to look him in the eye ! He gets so riled that he starts to growl and snarl at himself, LOL.
If you click on the what's new tab you will get to see a glimpse of the finished front landscape. It was new to me….
thank you, joanlife !
Did the mirror end up in the barn? He, He… I guess that i'm obsessed with the barn! Okay, lets see the house already!
is Chris testing the mirror in water?? the mirror is in water…I'm confused…my guess is in the bottom of some kind of water feature???o.0
I am hopeing he is just cleaning it. I hope.
How are you doing Jersey Girl:)?I like the reflecting pool comment earlier:) i like the mirror-it will look nice wherever they put it. I am sure Victoria has the perfect spot:)
Does anyone know what the contest period is and when the drawing will take place?
August 13th is the date for the Grand "Home Tour" and "Giveaway Entry" begins!
Ah yes, who can solve the mystery of the man in the mirror? From all of the wise guesses, there are many rooms in the home where the mirror could be set to good advantage. Wherever it is, I'm sure it's placed to provide the perfect spot for careful reflection — a window on Victoria Lesser's thoughtfully inspired Blog Cabin style.
However, in an attempt to shed light on the matter, we might ask ourselves (or better yet, Mary) to soon reveal its newly found niche in this charming home with the following lines of incantation….
Mirror, mirror heed our call
Tell us please upon which wall
Didst thou end up after all?
lol. A poet amongst us.
It is for me, I do declare
My beauty flows through out my hair
But, if my mirror is not displayed
I'll have nothing left
but, strings & fray
So put it in a fine discreat place
But, if you don't, it will turn into a chase
And, I will win or brake it in three
For no-one should see that mirror but ME!
Ok Coop…. Nobody writes like you but, I just couldn't resist. I had five minutes to read and of course yours grabbed my attention. Just havvin' a little fun!
.
There is a mirror in a pond
where fish look down to look up at you.
6. Also where is the Solar Rainbow Chime that won the votes???
7. What is the square footage of the Barn?
8. Does the barn have Electric now?
Jennie,
the solar rainbow chime is part of the home warming gifts.
I think the webstagram interior photos of kitchen showed shutters..or maybe i imagined them..
Yes there is shutters on all the kitchen windows, but the sliding glass doors, and window at the window seat by what I could tell. If they didn't want to put shutters on the slider there then maybe put up some kind of curtains there. Master suite has plantation shutters and they look nice from the out side.
home_girl–I see now that in my groggy state I did not read your question carefully; you did indeed ask about the slider in the kitchen. I had not seen photos of the kitchen slider, and had forgotten that the slider had been in the floor plans. I would love to have a vertical garden system to hang just outside the kitchen slider doo,r to grow herbs. In winter I would take the system down until spring thaws. I think I would use a corner of the barn to grow gourmet mushrooms.
I do not have plantation shutters, but I love them. Classic style— and no worry about someone's taste in drapery.
If you look at pictures on my web site Ken show a nice picture #3 of it with fireplace and hot tub. if you click on picture it will blow it up so you can see it better. On my computer I can touch it again and it blows it up again so I can get a real close up view, don't know if your well let you do that too or not.
There is a very slim area next to the door where you might be able to make a small herb box. Maybe something like one that didn't win in people choice but in a slimmer style would look nice there.
I try to take a picture of the shutter in Master suite but as you see my pictures didn't come out well at all, but I shared them with you all anyway. Don't know how shutters would work in window seat area but might look nice there too maybe the folding kind.
It looks as if its going to be used in some type of water feature?
I keep thinking that is etching solution in the plastic where the Mirror is soaking. Maybe Chris is giving it an etched backing…..
good one, Jennie ! BC always has a number of craft projects the host is involved with…could be.
