        Those Pesky Paint Colors

        Blog Cabin 2012 Construction

        Happy Friday, folks!

First, I’d like to address the master suite paint color issue. Yep, we mixed up the names. Thankfully, you caught the error and we fixed ASAP on the site. Trust us when we say that every vote you cast for your favorite color swatch was attributed to that exact color swatch. Correcting the names didn’t affect the results by one iota.

On a happy note, I am pleased to share a new construction slideshow with you. I think you will like the interior and exterior photos — we’re now building out the deck and awaiting your selections for that outdoor space.

And just to keep you up to date with our construction progress, Knickerbocker Group’s Kimberly Tuttle kindly shared her remodeling checklist:

        Completed
        -Interior walls framed
-Dropped flooring in tub and shower installed
        -Stairs framed
-Floors rebuilt (first floor and part of the second floor)
        -Windows installed
        -Old siding removed
        -Home wrap applied

        To-Dos
        -Install shingles
        -Install plumbing system
        -Install electrical system
        -Order kitchen cabinetry
        -Install drywall
        -Develop how-to project ideas

        1. So much work! Fantastic views! I'm liking the new floor plan. I don't have an issue with the stand alone gas stove. I have no desire to haul in wood, rather push a button. Love the first floor bedroom. Love the little transoms over the windows. Looking forward to seeing more. Hope to learn more about how and why the plans were altered from original specs. Hope you can share what issues required alterations and process.

          • The only reason the little dutch oven bothers me…what if you turn around to go do something and curious little baby fingers go to touch it?

          • Oh Hawkweed, excellent point. I've been out of that scene for a long time and I forgot! Kids are smart and it only takes them one time to figure it out. But at what cost? I know what you mean.

        2. Is anybody else having a problem going to the next page after selecting the color? Mine doesn't progress at all. Pesky programming?

        4. Like the new foyer/mud room area. Such an improvement. It's probably my favorite part so far. :)

        5. Beautiful blog Mary, lots of info and some great construction pics! The new windows look great, and I like the symmetry the new large window over the the staircase adds to the exterior of the home.
The deck is looking sweet, and that is a nice pile of rocks for the landscaping crews to work with. :)
I can't wait to see the new custom crafted front door. I bet the Knickerbocker Group has put their best master carpenter on that project.

        9. Very informative!! I'm looking forward to all the discussions this update will generate! I love the block of windows in the back with the detail along the top :) The house is going to be beautiful! I had to go back to round one and two to see what choices won and mentally put the mudroom and entry flooring in the progress photo. Loving the look!
