aye and double aye
AYE ! Matt get your lobster trap ready ! Don't wear any rings…
aye…..It was Matt's ring that was lost. How did I miss this before in everyone's comments?
I can't wait to see what they do with next years home. I'm sure it will be a beauty when they are finished. It definitely will be a fantasy come true for the lucky winner. Thanks for all the hard work the DIY and HGTV crews do each year. I really enjoy seeing all of the completed projects and the process getting there.
me too, Marylanddreamer!!!, its as much fun as entering and dreaming of winning!!!
I think DIY has other plans for Matt. Seem to remember a blurb of some kind being mentioned that something was in the works for Matt.
Matt mentioned that on his Facebook page–well, we can go back to Brooklyn and enlist JohnnyD & Marc Bartolomeo again !
That'll work. I think any of these guys would do a fantastic job. Just that this was my first BC, so I'm partial to Matt B.
Matt is turning out to be such a nice guy, I too have a soft spot for him.
There may still be videos from the 2010 Blog Cabin (on this site), to see Johnny, Marc, and also the familiar Jason on landscape, Matt M. on the master suite,Josh in the great room and finally Dean (with hay fever) and Derek tackling the back yard.
Matt left me a message on his facebook page…I asked him if he got the word about hosting the Maine BC…this is his reply…
Hey Maria! Actually no word yet on the host for next year. If they ask me back, I would love to do it. Such an amazing experience. I would love to have another host in our DIY family have the chance to have the same experience though. We shall see!
the good news is that no host has been chosen yet so Matt could still be our man!!!
DIY you are incredible! I didn't think the 2011 VA location could ever be topped, but by golly I think you've outdone yourselves once again. My grandfather lived by the St. Crois river in Maine. It was such a treat to vacation there and gorge ourselves on "lobsta" every summer. It is just breathtakingly beautiful there, and there is so much to do in nearby Bar Harbor. Because we can't all win the Susan cabin I'm so happy you're giving us all another chance to "dream the impossible dream". Thank you DIY and sponsors!
Wow, SID, that will be a lot of personal memories to revisit….anything you want to share, about the Bar Harbor area and other places, will be fun for the blog !
Just to let you know, Bar Harbor is almost 100 miles away.
Darling daughter and I spent a celebratory vacation near Friendship, Maine, the summer after she completed her high school studies. It is beautiful and I would be quite glad to return.
The VA Blog cabin was really incredible. What a beautifull home. But I am telling you all just wait for Incredible to come with the Waldoboro Maine farm home! I was born and raised in Monmouth, Maine but like lots of others we all leave home at some point. I still drop my R's and add my R's where they don't belong. There isn't anything better than having lobsta right from the boat. Can't wait to see this one. Thanks DIY.
Gorgeous location for next years cabin. I would really love to win this one, I will definately be entering next years. Unless of course I win this years.
I will defniately help with the voting. Just imagine a farm in main. Fresh milk and eggs for breakfast. A garden to grow the vegetables in to serve up with lunch, and then Blue Crabs for dinner. MMMMMmmmm. Love the blog cabins they are very inspirational. Thanks for all your hard work.
you said it
Ayuh! This will be another winner and north of Miami, too! Good Luck All!
No blue crabs in Maine, but plenty of other varieties.
A Maine farm would truly be a dream! I love acreage and it offers great opportunities to get back to basic family living. I was sad to miss out on the voting for the Virginia house but loved all the shows I was able to watch on the process and choices. DIY and HGTV have some truly talented craftsmen in their roster and they inspire me to step out of my comfort zone and try some new and different projects.
Thanks!
Wow the entry period for this year's blog cabin is almost over and they've announced next year's location already… B) Good luck everyone on the Susan, VA blog cabin and the Chicago urban oasis giveaways.
What chicago urban oasis are you referring to?????
Hi scripturelover2, go to hgtv.com and click on the urban oasis, take a tour, enter, etc. Also go to frontdoor.com and enter again! Good luck! I am also a scripture lover.
Me too! Woo-Hoo! God is SOOOOOO Good, isn't he! This new home for 2012 is Beautiful. WoW, I already Love the location, too, the way the house is laid out on the property. They use to build homes wisely….not hanging on to the edge of a earthquake fault line, etc. I can't wait until they start renovating.
hope this link works for you… http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv-urban-oasis-2011-giveawa…
gd bless u to n everyone else who entered
Can't wait for this one. Just a few hours drive from my son and his family. Great location.
I wonder if one of the winners has been one of our serious bloggers, willing to come on here to talk about it.
Yes, since we probably didn't win the blog cabin on the Chespeake or the high rise oasis (thinking of the 35th floor makes me dizzy), I am ready to think about a renovation and a FARM in Maine. I could talk my part-time farmer into towing one of our tractors and equipment behind us to take possession!
I cannot believe the Susan,VA blogcabin!!! OMG, whoever wins that is getting the house of a LIFETIME!!!
Dream again–Maine is a great place. Never could imagine winning a home–but maybe this time?;)
Beautiful!!!
im so impressed with this whole project what a beautiful setting
Once again I'm overwhelmed with amazement and gratitude for Scripps' Network's home giveaway sweeps. They are constantly exceeding my expectations. Kudos to Jack Thomasson (and team) for finding the ever elusive Waldo. Who woulda thought he'd be hiding in a borough in the NE corner?
you've won my heart! It is so rewarding to see something have NEW life breathed into it…and you guys and gals are the right people to do so. I could only imagine living in something so old and with so much history to offer. I will truley enjoy watching this unfold.
There is magic when all these guys (and gals) come together on a project….will be fun just as you said Alicia.
I think this one is going to be ohhhh so beautiful. And I can't believe they said 51 acres. I had to replay that part a couple of times. lol I thought I was hearing things. I love it.
The Chesapeake Blog cabin is amazing, — I was really impressed that the crew used the existing house and upgraded the foundation with environmental friendly feature; the stainless steel flow thru water valves. I enjoy watching the DIY and HGTV network because they are so innovative in their approach. They used an old door, hinges and previously discarded pieces of lumber to create a whole new product, very resourceful. BTW .. I hope I win this absolutely gorgeous home !
