        Blog Cabin 2010: New Dates

        Hello Light-at-the-End-of-the-Tunnel Bloggers,

I finally have some information to share with you pertaining to Blog Cabin 2010. There are two key dates for you moving forward: Monday, February 1 and Monday, February 15.

On Monday, Feb. 1, we’ll be announcing the location of Blog Cabin 2010. The only thing I’ll say now is that it is a dramatic geographic departure from previous Blog Cabins. And on Monday, Feb. 15, voting on Blog Cabin 2010 features will begin!

We’re particularly excited about the voting interaction – we’ve upped the online experience and hope you’ll enjoy voting and come back each day. You’ll also be relieved to learn that we’ve restricted the amount of times you can vote each day. Last year’s unlimited voting won’t be repeated. Good, no?

One final note. On Feb. 1 you’ll also be meeting a new blogging host – Blog Cabin Editor Extraordinaire Mary. Mary is our point person for Blog Cabin 2010, gathering all the behind-the-scenes info, interviews, images and myriad details for BC 2010 and is eager to jump in.

Hang tough just a few more (11) days, Faithful Bloggers – we’re almost there!

        Cheers,

        Watson, DIYNetwork.com Manager

        1. Hey Watson, Great news. Great to hear from you and all the changes. YES! The voting restrictions will be a huge plus I'm sure.
          Stay safe and warm.

        2. Thanks, Watson! This welcome news, and I think most of us will be happy about the restricted voting. Sounds like some exciting new things are coming. We'll be looking forward to the big reveal of the location, since your description is certainly mysterious!

        4. Fantastic!! I'm really looking forward to participating as this will be my first full season to watch in "real time." I only caught on to this program towards the end of last season and I'm hooked. I'm pretty sure I've seen nearly all the old episodes in anticipation of 2010. Really glad to hear about the change-ups, too. Hopefully no subdivisions? I'm sure it will be great with lots of projects.

        8. Watson, great news. I am thrilled that the voting is restricted to one vote per day.

Based on your "dramatic geographic departure" description, I'm thinking the location is somewhere out west. Where the vistas go on forever and you are not surrounded by trees.

          • Lillie,
Interesting how we read these things so differently.
When Watson said they've restricted the "amount of times" we could vote each day and that last year's unlimited voting would not be repeated, I took that to mean they will have a set amount that we are going to be allowed to vote per day, maybe 5 or 10 something like that. If it was going to be only once per day wouldn't he have just said only one time a day? Either way it will be much better than last years unlimited voting. Won't be long till we find out.

Here's what he said.(I put this here so you wouldn't have to scroll back up ) :)
"You’ll also be relieved to learn that we’ve restricted the amount of times you can vote each day. Last year’s unlimited voting won’t be repeated. Good, no?"

          • Agreed, completely.

          • I read it the same way you did, Kathy.

          • How interesting Kathy. Now that I re-read what Watson said, I can see how it could be interpreted to mean restricted amount of daily votes. Not just one vote per person per day. lol
