        New Time Lapse!

        About

Blog Cabin is based on a very simple idea: Blog It, Build It, Win It! This truly interactive series asks internet users to vote on the design features for a log cabin from January until March 2009. Then DIY Network experts, led by licensed contractor Amy Matthews, build the cabin according to the specifications chosen by our viewers. Matthews and the DIYnetwork.com team keep the world updated on the progress all summer long with blogs, interviews, photo and video updates online.

Then, in mid-August, you can watch the entire construction process on the TV series and enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win.

        Hello Trusty Blogcabinites,

Update (6/4/2009): Our Editor Extraordinaire Mary Graff has spotlighted Blog Cabin guest carpenters Ryan James Heryford and Allen Crawford. Both have interesting stories and we couldn’t be happier with their involvement in making Blog Cabin a success. More spotlights of special guests to come.

Update (5/22/2009): Brand-spanking new slide show for your review from North Carolina – with several photos taken by yours truly. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend everyone!

Please take a look at our latest Blog Cabin progress report in the form of a time-lapse video! This video will live in the Blog Cabin Videos area of the Blog Cabin Central page that you’ve come to know and love.

In addition to the interior and exterior photos we’ve added to the site, along with the Builder Q&A with Phillip Richardson, we’re actually starting to get some solid content in here. But it doesn’t stop there.

You can anticipate more slide shows in the future as well as video interviews with some of the Blog Cabin experts – so stay tuned!

        Cheers,

        Watson, DIYnetwork.com Manager

        1. I have to giggle, because that is the BC Timelapse that Carrie alerted us to the other day.

Thanks for the update Watson. Looking forward to what’s coming next. Keep smiling!

Watson: Hello Kathy, you are right – I’m busted. I waited patiently on Friday for our site to update with the time lapse, but it didn’t push through until after I had gone, so it has been up all weekend. Ya’ll are too sharp – you don’t miss anything!

        2. Yipppeeee! more to come ASAP! ;) right Watson! I’m looking forward to the expert videos and slideshows. I’m SECHI!

Watson: Hello Carrie, allow me to temper your excitement slightly: I just found out my video interview didn’t “make the cut.” When we traveled to the Cabin, we were able to do some unofficial filming – but has to fit contextually with the official production. So we’ll try again soon. And of course the official online videos are still on the way.

        5. Does anyone know if the master shower has double shower heads? That would be a good feature to add if it’s not already part of the house. This is a Gorgeous house in a gorgeous location. Love the Windows in the back and the wrap around porch. Time lapse video is fun to watch can’t wait to see more.

        6. I don’t think there’s a master shower. The vote was for a large master bath with chromatherapy. Maybe there’s a regular shower in the guest bath.

        7. Gee– I wish my porch is going up as fast as that house is. LOL

        8. The floor plan shows that all 3 full size bathrooms have Bathtubs. They do not show any stand alone showers in this home. Some of the Bathtubs may be the Combo Bath/Shower in one.
No one knows for sure where they will install the Chromatherapy Tub aka Koi Pond. :)

        10. Carrie, somebody, please translate SECHI for me.

Watson, could you please put a link to BCBC from this page and/or from BC Central? Thanks very much indeed.
