        Builder Q&A plus Slide Show!

        About

Blog Cabin is based on a very simple idea: Blog It, Build It, Win It! This truly interactive series asks internet users to vote on the design features for a log cabin from January until March 2009. Then DIY Network experts, led by licensed contractor Amy Matthews, build the cabin according to the specifications chosen by our viewers. Matthews and the DIYnetwork.com team keep the world updated on the progress all summer long with blogs, interviews, photo and video updates online.

Then, in mid-August, you can watch the entire construction process on the TV series and enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win.

        5. Great photos. They confirm our suspicions that the ‘notched’ area of the front porch will leave a very narrow passage from the side to the front porches. Barely 3 ft wide by the look of it. Not easy to bring furniture around and potential for a bottle-neck at any party event.

        6. Ok, now I’m getting SECHI, I see what you guys have been up to now. 8:) Good Job, bc team, high 5’s all around and we know who’s been there, working. Diresta, treehouse, window people, framers and the ac/h guys, etc. Oh and Watson, thank you for the picture s/s. Yes, we are excited now. I love the creek and the tree house is awesome. Can’t wait to see more of the tree house and the rooms a little closer to completion. Kids are going to love that treehouse, their own mini bc. Now with air guys there, you all can stay cooler in a few days while finishing up the interior and taking a break from the finish works outside. Thank you all for working so hard, it really looks great. Looking forward to seeing more.

        7. Very nice. But I want to win the Sweat Equity $75,000 and build a home without a mancave. LLL

        8. Nice slide show. I saw the tree house as well. Doesn’t look like any trunks are poking through the roof. This goes a long way toward getting us excited again. Can’t tell from that one picture if it is a window beside the kitchen or a door. So far there don’t seem to be any deviations from the original plans. It also seems as though the “master bedroom” is on the first floor. Do you see it that way?

        9. Hi Watson & everyone!
WOW! It’s so great to finally see photos of the inside now! This cabin is going to be terrific and someone (hopefully me!) is going to be over the moon with it when they win! The windows and glass doors let in alot of light and the views look spectacular! The house looks bigger now that we can see the people in the photos and rooms and stairways! Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us all up to date!

        10. Yes!!! Very cool pictures! Thanks Watson and crews! It does look bigger, now that there is some comparison perspective Julie! And I do love the way the tree house was done! So cool! Perhaps if I win, I’ll let the girls have the BC, and I’ll move into the tree house????? NOT!!!!

          Have a great day everyone!
