Hi there! Sally and I had a really nice visit. It was so nice to finally meet her in person. She brought me some seeds to plant for my garden too. She is very easy to talk to too. It definitely made my morning fly by.

Helen I bet Katie will be great on the UB basketball team and it will help her find some friends out there that maybe go to other schools in the area and be about the same age as her as well. I used to be very shy also, and the school and church groups I was involved in really helped me open up after I got more confident in my own abilities. I still suffer from time to time from a bout of shyness in new areas of my life. But that hasn't stopped me from talking my head off to strangers in the grocery checkout too! I think that is why I'm more talkative now than I used to be. I did play a little volleyball in church youth groups for fun. And Mary Christen is not that tall for the game of volleyball but she is learning to jump to make up for it. She actually blocks some tall girls on occasion. And I've noticed she is getting more confident each year. Not only in play but in how she can tell you what happened etc. I so wish I could have been there in Chicago but they won. One of the coaches took some great pictures of Christen for us. Thanks Rachael. And I see I missed something! Christen really loves the game and understands the play of it, and wants to know the game, she watches both the college league games and the beach games on tv plus we have taken her to a few college games to help her see the games in a higher level.

Helen I hope you and Sally are enjoying that visit, Thanks Sally thanks for letting us know that the blog baby is finally given to it's parents, I wish it were me, my heart breaks just a little. "OK ALOT". But I am so happy for your new neighbor and so happy that Barna and diy cared so much to wrap the blog baby up so tightly that it can be enjoyed the moment the winner walks in the door.

Good Morning all! Sally called me this morning, and she's going to come over to visit me about 11 this morning. I'm so happy we'll finally meet face to face. Katie is making "Helen's Heavenly Brownies" LOL as I write this. She is off from school this week for fall break. Since they start school at the beginning of August here, she has a week off in October, and March. In CT, she used to have a February & April vacation. It's supposed to be a little warmer than usual this week-- in the low to mid 80's. It's usually in the mid 70's this time of year here. So, it'll be a good week for Katie to have off.
It's really picked up my spirits knowing Sally is going to visit. Being stuck here by myself so much has really been getting me down. In case you guys haven't noticed, I'm somewhat of a social person, and really NEED to have people around. I'm the type of person who talks to people while waiting in line at the grocery store. (I've embarrassed Katie to no end many times doing this-- she is very shy.) So, this staying home is definitely NOT for me.
