The Series End for Blog Cabin … Or is it?

        Hello Faithful and Articulate Bloggers,

Although I loved the Blog Cabin finale, I have to say I was a little sad that it was over. The great thing about this series is seeing Ahmed and all the guest experts do their thing … and then I realized it’s happening all over again. That’s right, Blog Cabin 2008 will start over with the first episode on Thursday, Oct. 2 @ 9pm ET. So for everyone who wasn’t able to watch from the beginning, next Thursday is your chance!

The series will wrap up on Thursday, November 13 which will be around the same time that we announce the winner of the Blog Cabin! So keep watching and blogging, and in the meantime keep an eye on our newest series Project Xtreme. Did you catch the debut last night? I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Even better, if you’ve ever been involved in your own personally “xtreme” project, you can upload videos and photos so others can check it out.

Happy Blogging / Relax this Weekend,

        Watson, DIYnetwork.com Manager

        1. TO WATSON AND HIS BLOG ANGELS;I’m sure that if you’ve been reading the previous thread, you know just how special you and the entire crew have become to all of us and know too, that we have all lived in that beautiful Blog Mansion in our dreams. THIS IS TRULY THE PERFECT HOME!! And whomever wins, we all wish them many happy memories in the years ahead. There are so many deserving, caring and dedicated bloggers that even if we were allowed to choose the winner – we wouldn’t be able to decide who deserved it most!! I know how attached we ‘off site crew’ have become to this amazing HOME and how hard it is for us to let go of our BABY- I can only imagine how hard it must be for those of you who have been there doing the work and dedicating a large part of your life to creating this DREAM for someone you have yet to meet! YOU GUYS ARE OUR HEROS! And I hope that whoever wins will feel the way I do and say “THE DOOR WILL ALWAYS BE OPEN FOR THE BLOG CABIN CREW.”

        2. Thanks Watson. You’re right. I’ve really enjoyed watching Ahmed, Simon, Chris and all the other experts do their thing. DIY experts are not only gifted but also passionate and committed to providing their best for someone they don’t know. My prayer is that they receive far more than they give because of their committment to excellence and their generosity. This is an awesome blog cabin. It has to be since it is the product of the awesome people at DIY.

        3. Hi, Blog Cabin…

I’d like to offer a beautiful 8 acre piece of land in Colorado for your next Blog Cabin project… very interesting and challenging site, but oh how wonderful for just the right architectural vision! Of course, the property isn’t free, but maybe we can work out something! :-) The website is above…

          Thanks for reading…

        4. I think the cabin is fantastic and wanted to add that it would be really nice if the winner would donate the house to let others stay in it like missionaries or other volunteers that do so much for our enviornment. People that help our planet, the people and animals that live here. What a wonderful retreat it could be. Thank you for allowing me to put in my 2 cents. Good luck everyone.

        5. I can’t wait to see who wins! I’m already getting ideas for the next Blog Cabin. A BUNK HOUSE ROOM so there’s room for all the friends and family to visit and stay over! I’ve got a big family and I’d like to think, a lot of friends. My favorite times are when they are all togather at once!!

        8. Watson – Thank You for all you’ve done putting up with us bloggers, some posts were about this beautiful log home and many were friendships building and prayers for those in need yet you allowed them all and we’re thankful. This was our first time blogging and it’s amazing how attached everyone has become to y’all and for each other. Our love of log homes and a dream is where it all began and we’re proud to have played a minor part in it. Ahmed has answered some questions and learned so much through this entire experience plus got hurt but you could tell he cared about the home and the bloggers too. Your entire crew has been wonderful annd all the experts have contributed some beautiful and unusual pieces to make it extra special. This isn’t just a log house it truly is a home built with love, some trying times and even a little blood. Thank You ALL !!
Some lucky winner will soon call this “Home” and we all hope you’ll treasure every inch and take the time to read all the blogs, watch all the videos, see all the slide shows, you’ll understand how much was put into this home besides all the hard work. What a wonderful job the crew has done and thank you DIY and Barna Log Homes !!
For those that are posting the blog will end – not true – it will continue until they (hopefully) begin the 2009 Blog Cabin. At least that’s what I remember reading awhile back so stop panicing, the blog stays open. With the up coming holidays we’ll all get busy and the posts will be fewer but we’ll be together again in 2009 to begin another journey together.
Good Luck & Great Health To ALL !!

        9. I think the cabin came out great. One question….does lakefront estates allow the homeowner to build docks or boathouses off the property? That to me would be icing on the cake!

        10. Yes, Thank You Watson, Ahmed, Chris, and Simon, and all of those who have put forth such effort to creating a true work of art in this Big Beautiful Log Home.
Thank You also for giving your tribute to me and my family.( Even though we are still waiting to see it.) We Thank You for even considering our gift to make it a part of the home. Eveyone here and the cabin have truly been a special part of our lives.
We are so looking forward to seeing who the lucky winner is , and for the new season to start.
