Awesome – DIY you really outdid yourelves, the 360 is the greatest, I’m having so much fun going around in circles and noticing everything. All the special builds and voted on items, each and every room, loving the views from the porches, deck and patio, the little doors to storage areas, there’s so much to see. Great job, take a bow, well deserved. My Hubby’s ready to turn that garage into his race car area, such great space and soooo much room besides the parking area.
Barna Log Homes really came through with this beautiful home, thank you. To all the crew, hosts and everyone involved you all did an awesome job, someone will be thrilled to call this HOME.
Clive – great to hear from you again, everyone misses ya!
Carrie – hope little man Carter is feeling better soon and the 360 keeps you SE&CHI!
Helen & Sally – I want to be your neighbor so bad, we’ll have one heck of a party. Bloggers welcome!

Good Luck & Great Health To ALL !!
Hi Misty, Thanks for the well wishes for little man: just got back from the dr with Carter, it’s just a nasty cold, his ears were clear. Thank goodness! No meds just a little benedryl and tylenol. So he got off easy!
Hi …..
It has been our pleasure to bring you up to date on all the latest and greatest update to the Cabin as it has progress. We are still trying to make our daily walks (2.25 miles round trip by foot and the other day we saw a red fox for the first time. The weather has been in the upper 80’s without much rain in sight and the water temperature is in the 80’s also so we will swim today. They are still working on finishing up the inside of the Cabin with trim work and such and should all be done when it comes time for the winner to be announced – - – - – yes we vote everyday …….. can’t hurt to try and you just never know!! We have complied a file of over 120 pictures since the beginning of the build of both inside and out in it’s various stages. We have watched the seasons change from winter to spring to summer and are now on our way to fall. This is a beautiful place to live and we feel very lucky to be here. Come visit – - – TENNESSEE – - – it has a lot to offer.
DIY the place is absolutely AWESOME!! My kids and I love the pictures and the 360 views. My 5 yr old said it looked like heaven! It looks so peaceful and tranquil. You have captured the true beauty of nature here. The pizza oven outside is outstanding. The hardwood floors are gorgeous. The kitchen, WOW!! I hope the person who calls this home, loves to cook, because the kitchen and the pizza oven outside is to die for. The craftsmenship and the hardwork that has gone into this home is incredible!! It is such a joy everyday to look thru the pictures with my kids. Thank you, you’ve done a remarkable job.
Sandy
That 360 view is awesome technology.
I can’t believe the size of the garage! I think my favorite is the guest room, it’s beautiful. On the other hand, I think I would spend most of my indoor time reading in the loft or being a couch potato in the Man Cave.
The tour is COOL! Thanks so much, DIY! I love the deep roof over the upstairs deck and the patio is beautiful. Goooorgeous!
Does any one know what the thing is that the coffee pot sitting on is? or coffee pot holder was originally used for? I really like the antiqued look of it. I kind of thought it might be an antique boat motor holder but I’m not sure! I also like the antique shovel and baskets hanging from the wall there in the dining room / kitchen area. However if I won, I would have to remove the shovel and put in the garage or my little man Carter would dig into those nice floors or most likely break a window!
I love the rope and cleats used to hang the curtains in the kids room! nice touch!
TO;WATSON,AHMED,CRIS,SIMON,JASON,MATT,PAUL,DEREK,
DEAN,ROGER,JOHN,JIMMY,KARL,KEVIN,AMY AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE BLOG CABIN CREW – STAND UP AND TAKE A BOW. YOU DESERVE A STANDING OVATION FOR THIS ONE!
YOU GUYS ROCK!! IT IS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!
I just finished the 360 and still feel like I’m having an ‘out of body experience’. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING!
I noticed something last night in the slideshow of the man cave – the much discussed trim on the doors is repeated on the bar and forms a big V. For those not familiar the big V is a proud symbol around these parts as Tennessee is known as the Vollenteer State.Did Chris, Simon and Jason do that on purpose?
I’m aware that most of the furnisings do not come with the cabin but it would be nice if that telescope, the flat screens and the outdoor furniture were part of the prize.
Helen and Sally; THANK YOU! I’m sure any of us would love to be able to call you our neighbors – whomever wins the cabin is sure to feel that much more at home there knowing they already have friends near by.
Just think this year someone is going to be having an amazing Thanksgiving and Christmas in this Paradise. That is what I picture when I dream of being the winner. Filling the loft with inflatable beds during the holidays and having my entire extended family (from all over the country) and all my friends togather like I used to do. Imagine it – ‘A TENDER TENNESSEE CHRISTMAS’. My apartment isn’t big enough to accomodate everyone. lol
OK, I’m off to dream some more while I eat the part of this big sweet watermellon my neighbor just brought. mmmmmmmmm! LOVE AND LUCK TO ALL!
Hi Carrie Miracle. I’ve seen similar things to the jug stand before. Some new and some old; some in Europe, others in Africa and even the US. I think they are all variations on a comon theme of simple geometry (the triangle) to support considerable weights. We have 4 beautiful carved wooden chairs that are of the same design principle but just made from 2 planks of wood. I’ve seen stands like this used for plant pot holders outside a old general store in the Ozarks. They looked old and weathered but a few years exposure will do that to unfinished wood anyway. I’ll bet this design is hundreds, if not thousands of years old and it’s a really nice touch in the cabin. Could you imagine a few more similar shaped/designed chairs or high stools for the granite countertop?
