The Blog Cabin Sweepstakes is ON!

        Hello Trusty Blogcabinites!

Yes, the moment you’ve all been waiting for is here! Now the real fun begins! Enter Every Day (between now and Sept. 29) for your chance to win the cabin everyone had a hand in designing. Watch the premiere of Blog Cabin 2008 Thursday, August 14, at 9pm and 9:30pm ET, then stick around for the always-entertaining Chris Grundy and Cool Tools at 10pm.

And let me be the first to welcome all the new folks who are dropping in to join in the fun. Check out our cabin cam for daily images from the build site, watch very cool videos featuring all the DIY Network experts who participated in the construction, get the low down on the interior furnishings and take a look at our exhaustive slide shows from cabin site at beautiful Lakefront Estates.

        Happy viewing and good luck!

        1. Wow! I entered today and am excited. Thanks DIY for the opportunity.
          BlogginBob,
The Cabin Cam is still there. The link is on the side now. I see it is also in Watson’s second paragraph, too. Mine seems to take much longer to load than before.
Good luck to everyone. Glad to hear from Clive, if oh, so briefly.

        2. Heading South,
Thank you so much and I will tell her that you are praying for her alone with a lot of other fellow bloggers!
God does work miracles very day of our life if we are just open enough to see them.

        3. :)
I just entered and can’t wait for tonights airing. I guess I’ll just have to miss some of the Olympics. This is very exciting indeed. :) :) :) Good luck to all the bloggers. I know each and every one of us wants to be the winner. I sure hope the “cabin” goes to someone who will really enjoy it. The view is so peaceful. I can just imagine sitting out on that deck every day. Thanks DIY for the dream. :)

        4. Thank You Nancy! Yep, You know I am slow to catch things. I went back and saw it after reading what you wrote. Yes, I wish Clive could join us more regularly .
Joyce, we will keep Jeanette in our prayers. Hmmm? Wonder if they have Diy in the hospital? I will have to wait for a youtube upload I think.
I hope A.Muse and Keight might jump in here soon to say hi.

        5. Hi all! So excited the contest has finnaly started but I;m a little confused… I saw the pics of some furniture that will be in the cabin and it looks beautiful but the rules say… Grand prize “(includes the real propertry and the house only without furinshings)” So does that mean they come in and move everything out before you move in?
I’m ok with that of coarse I would take a pine box to live by that beautiful lake. It just seems misleading by haveing furniture in the cabin.

Unless I’m missing something???? Am I confused or is this accurate?

Again whatever the case I am grateful to have the opprtunity to have a chance at winning this beautiful home.

        6. I just entered – whoopie! Can’t wait for tonight’s show. Still praying for all those in need.
Say a prayer for my grandson Kenny, he is 20, but being held against his wishes, by emotional blackmail, at his stepmother’s. Law enforcement is involved and the family is praying for a peaceful solution soon.

Glad to see the blog is still here.
          Good luck everyone!

        8. Joyce…..

I am praying for Jeanette night and day along with others. I can’t wait to see the Blog Cabin show tonight. I think I will have plenty of time since I do not have anything new to post on the web site…..guess everyone is to busy to send anything.

Nice to see that clive blogged again, looks like from what he said will not be blogging much.

        9. Thanks to EVERYONE for their prayers and concerns while I’ve been sick. It’s been rough but the meds are finally beginning to work, still weak but, hopefully, I’ll be back in the pool again in a few weeks.

I finally got a chance to catch up on the blog and was completely surprised to see that it was posted that I could only receive recipes emailed on notepad, not true, I’ve read all but one that was sent in a personal file that couldn’t be opened without their password which when I notified them they resent in a regular email.
Then I read that recipes were to be sent to a site set up dedicated to cabincraver, this was the first I heard about this. No one contacted me to let me know that they posted that all recipes go to this site and some people are under the impression that I requested this. I have spent many hours working on the recipe book for the bloggers plus at our expense for all our new friends as a Thank You and I did post at the bottom of a previous blog that I would include poems and pictures and everyone that sent a recipe would receive a free recipe book with all the 2008 recipes of all our favorite bloggers. These will fit into a notebook that I had planned to update each year there is a new Blog Cabin.

Please know the Recipe 2008 Book and the new site set up are 2 completely different projects. I won’t print out recipes from the site unless I had them before the site was made so as not to interfere with the site. I don’t want to confuse everyone and you can print the recipes directly from the website. The Recipe 2008 Book is a personal project that I’m hoping the bloggers will enjoy.
If you’d still like to be a part of the Recipe 2008 Book please send your recipes, poems, and pictures to:
rcmc02@embarqmail.com just like before. Deadline will be posted in a month or so and a copy will be given to the winner of the BBLH if they’d like one.
I apologize for any confusion, this all happened while I was sick and had no idea. The website is another great idea, I just wanted to let you know it is not the Recipe 2008 Book since some bloggers seem to think it’s one project since the site is also collecting recipes, poems and pictures.

Good Luck and Great Health To ALL !!

        10. Hi all! An exciting day for everyone, huh?! I just got back from the doctor’s office, and couldn’t resist buzzing over there while I was out. They seem to be still working on something in the back– cars parked on the lake side.
As for me– the doctor said there’s no more putting off my hip. He said he specializes in knees, and referred me to the doctor that specializes in hip. I go to see him Tuesday morning, and the doc said I’ll probably have the surgery in about a month or so.
Good luck to all!! I can’t wait to see who my new neighbors turn out to be.
          Love, Helen
